Relapse S tier. I've never listened to anything like relapse in my life and his flows and rhyme schemes on songs like stay wide awake and 3am is peak technical ability imo. Also super interesting to see an artist in whats probably the lowest point in his life conveying how he feels in his music in such an unique way with stuff like deja vu, my mom, insane, etc. And the other serial killer vibe songs feeling like hes coping fantasying being a serial killer is so fucking good.

I only just finished watching it and I have stuff to say For starters you should know that your last video on Eminem is the reason i gave another shot at Relapse and Recovery (Revival ... I just, I just can't). I've listened to them both several times and though there are only 4 to 5 songs I really like on them, it adds 10 songs to my Eminem playlist, so that's awesome :) Now about your tier list. I respect everything, I know you were expecting to surprise us by putting Kamikaze in D-tier, and oh boy you did ! Besides that, everything is pretty much the same for me. However, I absolutely love 19 out of the 19 tracks of The Death Of Slim Shady (yes, i don't skip the skits), and I'm surprised you didn't get more hooked. Also, you did catch that the beats of "Brand New Dance" felt different, and that is right. In "Guilty Conscience 2" (your favorite btw) Slim Shady notices it : " Slim Shady : I know that Chris Reeves song [Brand New Dance] was recorded in 2004 for Encore Marshal : (Yeah) Slim Shady: Fuck'd you take it off for? Marshal :'Cause he died, Slim Shady: man, that motherfucker did that bullshit on purpose to ruin the song for us " (those are the lyrics at 2min21 into the song) Lastly, as other people had already mentionned in the other video's comment section : There is a Music to be Murdered By - Side B. It has 16 tracks and is subjectivly even better than Side A, and its not like a Refill (pun intended) or an extended version, it is meant to be another album, thus "Side B" Anyway, great video, it was first in my recommandation and I jumped on it and wasn't disappointed, can't wait to see a video essay on Kendrick Lamar if/when you do one !

You should definetely do whatever you want next but I would recomend checking out D12 (eminem's band) they only have 2 albums that are mostly produced by eminem so you might have something to say about his ability to make beats and produce. Other good hip-hop artists whose discographies you probably should check out are Nas, Dmx, maybe Xzibit, Pac and biggie I presume are obvious, 50 cent. These are just the first I thought of and I'm sure other people have some great suggestions too. My personal ranking: TES, The mmlp and the sslp in that order in S; The mmlp2, relapse and TDOSS evenly matched in A; encore and revival in C; everything else* in B. *without infinite as I haven't listend to it.

Glad you're giving Relapse the credit it deserves. I think it's a phenomenal album that's unfortunately often bundled together with people's dislike for Recovery. A month ago I'd agree with TDOSS as B tier but as I've listened and caught more and more of its nuance I'd have to put it in A tier and move Relapse to S behind MMLP1. Although I do feel your take on Tobey and glad to see it finally drop off his top 5 spotify tracks. Encore could either way and I think Rap God alone should secure MMLP2 in A-tier. It's is a hip hop masterclass of a track that leaves even Eminem haters speechless. It's funny you mentioned Evil feeling like an early 2000 release because I believe Brand New Dance is actually the song originally intended for Encore (as he eluded to in guilty conscience).

Honestly, I respect this list, except putting Kamikaze as the worst. I personally thought his rhyme schemes were really solid and catchy particularly on the first three tracks (“The Ringer,” “Greatest,” and “Lucky You”) “Fall”, and “Venom,” but I’m glad that he kept it to only 13 tracks because otherwise the concept of just hating on whomever would’ve gotten old. (Also, I feel like “Music to be Murdered By Side B” should’ve been on this list.)

This is my list: S: MMLP, SSLP 20/20 A: Relapse, Eminem Show 19/20. B: MMLP2, TDOSS, Recovery, Encore. 30/40 C: MTBMB 5/10 D: Kamakaze 3/10 F: Revival 2/10 Overall his discography gets a 79/110. He has his lows and highs for sure in his carrer. Easily still a top tier in terms of quality. BUT i will say musically is not the goat. And its not even close. That goes to Kendrick Lamar who manages to be that top tier rapper with a fantastic discography. KDot: S Tier, GKMC, TPAB. 20/20 A Tier. MM+BS, DAMN. 19/20 B Tier: Section 80, Untitled Unmastered 16/20 55/60. This is greatness. You can say its his prime. But its been almost 15 years and 6 albums. If you look at Eminems first 6 albums he would get a 50/60 being generous. Kendrick still has had an 8% Better prime in terms of music.

I’ll never forgive the haters and fans for making Em switch course after Relapse. Not that Recovery wasn’t good. I also think stepping stone from kamikaze is slept on. Very 2004 vibes. Eminem can write paragraphs of incredible rhyme schemes and crazy word play probably better than Kendrick and prob better than most rappers. and he can have incredible storytelling for a song. but Em could never write and storytell in a full project and conceptualize and have nearly as much meaning as Kendrick. Em wastes wayyy too many lines while every single line on TPAB has a purpose. and also Em’s flow gets annoying a lot especially modern day Eminem he sounds like the mix between an old white man and a hamster rapping
