I don’t think Dre looks at himself as a rap artist. His voice just sounds so good on a track. He definitely spent more energy on the production side of the industry. Just my opinion. "Like that feature when I stole the show, sorry if I took forever" refers to a live feature em did with drake on "forever" where the crowds cheers basically drowned out the song when em walked on stage. It's on KZbin
@kerrievincent68944 жыл бұрын
The feature he’s talking bout is “Forever” by drake. - “Just like that feature when I stole the show.. sorry If I took ‘forever’” And for the part about Eminem fans just immediately go against anyone who is against em, I know that’s the case for a lot of people but not for me. I respect Budden as an artist and I watch his podcast, I honestly feel like he should have had more hits because he is an amazing lyricist and I still listen to his shit to this day. I go back and forth on charlamagne, I like him for the most part but sometimes he annoys the fuck out of me, nothing to do with eminem though. But as for lord Jamar.. Fuck that dude. Like it seriously ain’t just because he talks mad shit about Eminem, it’s the simple fact that he feels like if you’re white you’re not a true artist. That’s just ridiculous and it’s straight up bullshit. I’m not one of these Eminem fans that think he’s the best to ever step in a booth, but I think anyone who actually listens to Eminem would agree that he (at the very least) has proven himself worthy of atleast being apart of that conversation. So for him to actually feel the need to say Eminem hasn’t proven himself worthy of being seen as a legitimate rapper literally because of the color of his skin just really bothers me. Especially considering this mf was riding nick cannons dick. Like if you see nick cannon as a legitimate rapper but not Eminem then your opinion is irrelevant. But I think if Eminem came out and started (publicly) saying that black surgeons aren’t real surgeons, (or lawyers, or whichever career that person has) even tho that person has won multiple awards and has some of the biggest names in the field saying their one of the best to do it, then I would still think that would be disrespectful as fuck and I would have a problem with that too, just like I’m sure you would.

That Tyler bar was a bit cringe though, Tyler actually had a valid criticism of Eminem's slight lack of hooks in Revival, and it's a legit critic, there is a lack of hooks in Em's style. One is the most famous type and that's the ones that go exactly overboard and live for Em and will attack you if one negative thing is said about Em and the other type of Stan's are huge hiphop heads as well so they admit if something is bad and won't attack you just because. I agree and to be honest find it kinda funny that em harps on ghostwriters so much knowing Dre’s tracks record lol mind you I LOVE that he goes at these dudes being ghost written for cuz I hate that shit too
@marsupialsr4 жыл бұрын
Difference is simple though, he rips on people with ghostwriters that are competing for top tier rap artists or lyricists. Dr Dre never pretended to be a true rapper/lyricist, he is 100% recognized as a producer. If someone said Dre is one of the greatest lyricist, i'd call that shit out immediately.
@coreyrees8404 жыл бұрын
MarsupialJr but it was never an openly discussed thing and most fans (of anything really) are half assed ones, the masses if you will, and there are A LOT who don’t know Dre didn’t write his shit. Of course the heads know, but you’d be surprised how many have Dre on a top 10, top 20 etc list. Same with Easy E and I’m just like 🤦🏻♂️

Corey Rees yea even if they openly admit it or not I would rather u just produce if u are a producer! I don’t respect it.

MichelleShow I mean he can rap, there’s tons of dudes em coulda wrote lines for that wouldn’t have been able to spot them, he has the voice and the ability, but the main thing I look for outta these guys is the one and fact that THEY write it. Other genres I don’t care nor does anyone else, it’s common practice and accepted by all that people write for others all the time, different though for hip hip in my opinion

13:35 Its okay to respect Lord Jamar for his contributions to hip hop. No one's arguing that. But its his views on Eminem and his hate on him - "Em's a guest in house of hip hop, cant be one of the greatest cuz he WHITE" - that's disrespectful as shit. Sure Lord Jamar's an OG but Em's a legend too. And as Em said on Tobey - he respects the pioneers, but that dont mean he wont respond back to their allegations. Its Legend to Legend 😌

I think for me, a life long Em fan, but a raw critic that doesn't say anything is good just because the artist is good. Even Lebron has bad games. I thought "Walk on Water" and Revival as an album altogether, tried to hard to be important. Almost like a Common album, and I am not saying there is one single thing wrong with Common but what if Common dropped an album tomorrow that was like Relapse.....

- Dre has writers, not ghostwriters cz he is a producer, and he writes some 50% of his shit. - Cole, K.dot, Big Sean and all them niggas said it in public (check YT videos) that Em been a big inspiration (Em/jay/nas) - Logic ain't got good lyrics but he has that cadence and flow in some verses, that's the Em inspiration - Hopsin is a fucking good lyricist, just a bit corny, and a tech n9ne/Em clone a lil bit but he is good tho' For the culture !

Kanye has had other writers, but he ACKNOWLEDGES them. I’m pretty sure Em is okay with that, he doesn’t like the ones who claim to write their own stuff, but uses a ghost writer.

You know what’s funny is...Budden’s only hit, Pump It Up, was written by the label and they forced him to sing it. He always hated the song and said it wasn’t his style. Then after being a flop, Eminem resurrected his career gave him a chance in slaughterhouse and now Budden is too disrespectful to even keep his mouth shut and recognize Em did him a solid. Ungrateful ass ppl, I swear.

Gotta say, I don't really get a Slim Shady vibe from Hopsin. I respect your opinion on him and am not trying to get you to listen because if you don't like him, then you don't like him, period. But Hopsin, while there are some similarities in his early albums as he was figuring out what his own style should be, he actually does create his own style, especially in his later albums like Knock Madness, Pound Syndrome and No Shame. He has tons of songs that nowhere near sound like Eminem songs, especially his Ill Mind of Hopsin collection. His best is Ill Mind 7, the most realist in your face shit I've ever heard outside of 2Pac and Eminem. And as for Budden, no one would even know who he was if not for Em and Royce, then he makes one hit and thinks he's better than both. And Jamar, I'll be honest, I've been listening to Hip-Hop since 2Pac, and I have never even heard of Jamar until this whole beef started. To me, he is just dissing Eminem to be relevant, which is hilariously backfiring on him because even the O.G. legend rappers are defending Em and clowning Jamar. If not for this beef, I don't think people would even know him or remember Budden at all. They're both just dick riding and hating to stay in the spotlight, in my opinion. Not a fan of JCole or Logic myself either. I agree that neither are that good. Although, I did enjoy Homicide with Eminem and Logic, other than that, not a fan of Logic. And I just subscribed. I may disagree with some of your thoughts, but overall, your reactions are genuine and honest, and I appreciate that. Very rare these days in reaction videos.
