+NearlySeniorCitizen Yetagamer I'd enjoy seeing an Everclear reaction. A lot of people don't know them, but they were an Alternative Rock band in the 90s and now they are an independent label and still putting out music. All the songs are about the life of their lead singer Art Alexakis, he organizes the Summerland tour every year which is a full tour of just 90s Rock bands that aren't all that big anymore and let them perform their hits and new material.
@Necrobadger8 жыл бұрын
Ok, the easiest way to explain this without taking sides that someone was basically told to talk shit about someone else to get them in the headlines, another person reacted by insulting them, then it kept going, getting bigger and bigger until BOTH sides started making it more personal, until eventually someone actually went all out and killed someone, and that was the point where BOTH sides realized that they were just toys to the record companies, that they didn't care what happened to them, as long as they sold records.
@Necrobadger8 жыл бұрын
And the worst thing is, it mirrored the whole Biggy/Tupac thing, which once again showed that this kind of thing has been going on for a long time.

The story behind this is basically, Eminem and 50 cent was having trouble with this different rapper called Ja rule but he was going to leave it. Him, Doctor Dre and Ja Rule had a meeting and they asked him to stop and leave it alone, but he didn't. In one of Ja Rule's song's he mention's Eminem's daughter and Eminem got really mad so he told 50 cent to do what he wanted. Then there was this big fight between some other rappers but Eminem stayed out of it, then the media kept bringing up his name and spreading rumors about him so he made this song because no matter what happens he's always blamed for it and at some point he blames himself. The guy who get's shot in the music video was actually Eminem's best friend, Proof, but sadly, he got shot about two years after this music video and he died.
@JohnBanana7 жыл бұрын
50 cent was already having beef with Ja. But when 50 joined shady records Eminem wanted him to tone it down but then Ja mentioned Hailie they went full on into a full beef. The rest is true, nice explanation. edit: oops your comment is almost a year old, sorry

You are so awesome!!! You remind me of my grandmother... so emotional and wise. You are one of the very few reactionist who I looke at their faces and listen to their voices. You always put up such an image to look at and be interested in. That response at the end almost made me cry to see that you got so emotional. Dude... you're right. The talk about lives being valuable and people stripping that away from the innocence... that touched my soul. You really are awesome, and you are one of the few reactors I'll support. Also, a suggestion- if you're watching a music video with the stupid Vevo/MTV censors, I've been wondering if you could take the video and match it with the uncensored audio. Just a suggestion. Keep up what you're doing.

+NearlySeniorCitizen Yetagamer Also, another thing- (These stories are a bit mixed up, but from my research and common sense I can put this together) The song isn't even just about Eminem's friend, but rapper rivalries in general. Tupac, Bugz, Biggie, etc. have died in these rapping shoot-outs and the thought of that is depressing. Two rappers, 50 Cent and Ja Rule had conflict. Eminem was involved when Ja made a line about Marshall's daughter, Hailie. Something about the woman in his life being trash and making an insult that Hailie was going to end up that way as well. Eminem knew what was going to happen if he let the rappers brutally fued like they were. Rap is an art- it should be left as such. The guy on the bed was Proof, and, ironically and sadly, he died in a shoot out shortly after this song was released. Eminem is tired of these results ("I just love y'all to much to see the verdict") and pretty much the whole message is laid out at the end of the video in the news caption where it says, "SHADY: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH".
@dearekaustin8 жыл бұрын
This song is mainly about Eminem's best friend proof who was gun down due to rap rivalries if you watch Eminem's 8 mile movie proof is known as future who really encouraged eminem to not give up
@LODintheshadows8 жыл бұрын
Add a bit more onto these from what I remember. this is about all the beef that was going on at the time, and how he didn't want to pull his friends into it when he didn't have to. Proof in this video is the guy who got shot, and shows fears the Em had that someone he really cares about could get hurt if things carry on this way. a couple of years after this was released Proof was in a bar and got in an altercation with another guy I think he knew at the pool table. later on the guy came back with his cousin who then proceeded to shoot proof to death. A lot of recovery talks about his feelings about what happened to proof and how he was dealing with it

I'll give an explanation if someone already hasn't. Eminems friend and rapper Proof was shot outside a bar which explains the video. Because the song was on a different topic about Ems feud with rapper Ja Rule and rapper Benzino and how they were threatening their record label. The video was released after the song when Proof died. Which is why it was dedicated to him, because he died during the labels altercation by some gang member.
