Eminem's story is a very tragic one. His father left he and his mom when he was a kid, and she developed a drug addiction. They moved a lot because she couldn't keep them in a stable home. The actual rap battles Marshall had in Detroit before he was Eminem helped him to get recognized by Dr. Dre, one of the greatest producers and performers in hip-hop. As he got more famous, he and his wife Kim both had horrible drug addictions and their separation was extremely public. He used his music to vent every negative thing that went through his mind. His lyrics were very violent at times, very comedic at others, very inspirational many times, and his personal life was falling apart, but he kept writing, and in 2010 he got clean from pills. This film 8 Mile was an opportunity to share his story in an intriguing way back in the early 2000s and give people some hope that they can do something important to them if they fight for it.

"If you had One shot Or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted In one moment Would you capture it Or just let it slip?" So many people will never seek or take that opportunity, out of laziness or doubt or simple fear. Very seldom will things ever just be handed to us. We have to make things happen for ourselves and we have to take chances, scary as that might be sometimes. I love that you took a chance with a different style of music, and I don't think you could have done much better with your song selection! I love your fade-out as you are singing a few lines of the Eminem and Dido collaboration, "Stan." 3:44 - 3:47 😄 6:25: "Noo! Don't give up." I can tell you really feel those words. 9:07: That look! Made me laugh... 11:25: "Instead of appreciation, people want more more more." It's so true. Sadly. We always want more from others, but how many are willing to give to others as much as they ask from others? 17:27 - 17:38: Beautifully worded. "Say yes to new stuff." Perfect advice and way to end this reaction video. There is a lot of good advice in this video, from Eminem and yourself, for anyone wise and brave enough to heed it. P.S. You should absolutely check out the movie "8 Mile," I think you would like it!
