METALLICA - Russian Girl Reacts to MASTER OF PUPPETS - Can't sit - need to dance - Crazy Song. REACTION probably the same.
Live in Seattle 1989
"Master of Puppets" ( July 2, 1986)
The song was recorded during October-December 1985 at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark
The song, as lead singer James Hetfield explained, "deals pretty much with drugs. How things get switched around, instead of you controlling what you're taking and doing, it's drugs controlling you."
The song was bassist Cliff Burton's favorite song on the album, as quoted when the album was released. The song is one of the band's most famous and popular songs, frequently played at concerts.
Personally, I think that rhythm just crazy energetic but I found for myself here unbelievable and unforgettable, amazingly beautiful solo like oasis in the middle of the desert. The song deserves to be so famous and OMG OMG OMG - perfect for charge you enough and ruuun!
Lyrics.
End of passion play
Crumbling away
I'm your source of self-destruction
Veins that pump with fear
Sucking darkest clear
Leading on your death's construction
Taste me, you will see
More is all you need
Dedicated to
How I'm killing you
Come crawling faster (faster)
Obey your master (master)
Your life burns faster (faster)
Obey your
Master!
Master!
Master of puppets I'm pulling your strings
Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams
Blinded by me you can't see a thing
Just call my name 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master!
Master!
Just call my name 'cause I'll hear you scream
Master!
Master!
Needlework the way
Never you betray
Life of death becoming clearer
Pain monopoly
Ritual misery
Chop your breakfast on a mirror
Taste me you will see
More is all you need
Dedicated to
How I'm killing you
Come crawling faster (faster)

The first part is "to live is to die". It's a tribute to the former member Cliff Burton who tragicly lost his life in 1986 in a bus accident. Jason Newsted took his place shortly after. And then there was that one guy who couldn't behave and was fired and then he went on to form Megadeath.

Find the lyrics. This song is about how drugs can control someone’s life. The music starts with the drug as the master; the slow part you liked so much is the person getting high. Then the song continues with craving after the high wears off and the drug in total control.

I love that you focused on the epic music first, and the message 2nd. That's the way to do it. First you experience the musical phenomenon they produced, then you consider the subject and message. This song is my childhood favorite, and at age 7, I had no clue what it was about. I learned that at... Age 9? 10? 11? Something like that. And this really is a song to rock out to, or to push you at the gym. The message is to me, set apart. (Edited: Holy shit how tired was I when I wrote that last part xD).

Trio Intro song: "To live is to die" (from album ...And Justice For All) only once performed live in memory of Cliff Burton / bass guitarist (RIP), song written/inspired by him before road accident death. They did not perform this song ever due to loss the band had and emotional connection / memories song brought up on Cliff (a man/musician who brought foundation in theory/harmony/structure to the band). Other song that bare his composing style signature: Anesthesia pulling teeth, The Call of Ktulu and Orion.

For those who aren't very familiar with Metallica, the intro is not actually part of the song "Master of Puppets," but is another song from the album "And Justice For All" which followed "Master of puppets." The song is called "To Live is to Die" and is an instrumental dedicated to Cliff Burton, their Bassist who had died 3 years prior, and consisted of riffs written by Burton that hadn't been incorporated into songs yet.

I don't think anybody should listen to a live version of a song unless they have heard the studio version first. Hearing a song in edited, intended form is the only way you can really appreciate a live version. Sometimes at live shows the sound is a little out of tune, maybe the bass is drowned out a bit, the singers voice is off a tad, solos aren't quite the same, etc. Once you hear the intended version only THEN can you really grow to appreciate a band's live versions IMHO. If you have to pause the video for copyright purposes, we get it. Just don't do it in the middle of the solo. ;>}

You trying to workout is the energy that Metallica brings. When I'm feeling slow or sluggish at work "Thrashtallica" (Their first 3 albums) is the go too. At the same time when I'm feeling down or sad Metallica can always make me feel better with tracks like "One" "The Unforgivin" "Bleeding Me" with their relatability and messages. I was put on to metallica before I was out of pull-up diapers by my father who had experienced Metallica's entire discography (Being born in 1970) (As well as bands like Korn, 9 Inch Nails, Wheezer, Limp Bizkit, System of a Down, Smashing Pumpkins, Ozzy Osborne/Balck Sabbath, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Tool, And many more) and I'll never be more grateful for music to be brought into my life than what my own father has blessed me with. Metallica is there for my best and worst times, always. Cliff Burton. (The "Orginal" bassist is the reason I still play bass today nearly 20 years later). Metallica will be a part of me until the day I die, and all i can do is say Thank You!

"Master of Puppets" is about drug abuse. There are allusions to heroin (sucking darkest clear / needlework away) and cocaine (chop your breakfast on a mirror). In the middle, the calls for the Master fade away as the drugs kick in, and on comes the mellow part as the user is experiencing the bliss of the drugs. Then slowly, the effects start to wear off, and the yearning for the drug becomes even greater. Most of the song is presented from the drug's point of view, how it's trying to lure you in. After the epic middle solo, the song switches to the user's point of view, asking where the dreams are that the drugs promised. needing its fix (Fix Me!). The drug then answers it's worth the sacrifice as it revels in snaring another victim (I will run through you, now I rule you too).

@??? I don't have the key board to address you properly. No apology needed I was thinking whatever it was you said matched all the other positive comments so I blindly gave you a thumbs up. I have been told my sense of humor can be misunderstood 🙃 I assume you are from the area, were you at the show?

Whats awesome is that, even though English isn't your first language, you were still able to pick up what this song was about. Great reaction to and awesome song! One of my favorites by them!

Dude, im not even phased by how pretty this girl looks because her reactions are so high through the roof. I mean shes talking about doing aerobic s to metallica and resinging every lyric is good enough for me. She reminds me of bill and teds exellent adventures when the joan of arc character starts doing aerobics during the heavy rock n roll playing.😁

Honestly there for awhile I didn't know what to make of you. Your reactions are interesting and different than everyone else. I guess I just was t sure if you were nice or not. I guess I judged you because your attractive and I lumped you in with a lot of the interned people then I watched the video you did about how much you made ND how vulnerable that was. So I say that ti say this bravo your my favorite reactor because your genuine funny and nice ill try to make sure I share your stuff hopefully it helps keep up the great content
