I think one aspect of Em not wanting to be a role model is that he never expected his music to do so well and reach so many people. He just said unfiltered, outlandish s**t (like in battle rap) without worrying who might listen to it. But because he had such mass appeal, especially with teenagers, media and such were blaming him for not being a good enough role model. (Which he had never aspired to be.)

Glad to see your dipping your feet into the world of Slim Shady. The song has no real message this is one of those where he raps or the love of rap with a few bars that's why it's all over the place just basically an early showcase of his arsenal. And I know I keep asking but please can you do a double video of chloraseptic and then the remix. Chloraseptic was from the revival album that was universally panned...dunno why because I loved it the remix was a response to everyone who hated it a warning shot that the kamakzi album was coming (he also released a song called caterpillar) and sort of announced the return of slim shady although he was never really gone

I never heard this clean version before... the clean rewrites always feel a bit limp. Its not just that he's done things wrong dont follow him... but Eminem/Slim Shady, in an exaggerated fashion like many rappers in the 90s, always CLAIMS things that are completely ridiculous and then media acts like its real... his early songs were always meant to be angst comedy, not to be taken seriously...so this was kind of a shot at the media and parents for taking it him so serious.... because his fans already knew he was clowning before this. Nobody was doing the things he claimed he was doing in songs, some people needed to chill. Its like that whole spazz session about violent video games. I play violent video games, and i dont even own a gun even though i easily could, and ive never committed any felonies... some of can distinguish between reality and fantasy. His Gen X and Mellenial fans certainly could. And it's Foghorn Leghorn.

But if you want to check out rap that REQUIRES intelligence there is an artist you should check out and dissect. He will make you feel stupid. Aesop Rock. Look up the song gopher guts.
