This song makes so much more sense when Royce does it. Royce=Renegade JayZ=No renegade.

Royce first verse are almost the same as Em´s verse in Dead Wrong with B.I.G. The flow and the syllables Royce used in this are exactly the same as Em´s in Dead Wrong! Which one came out first, Renegade or Em´s verse in Dead Wrong? anyone??? Btw, sorry for my Eng, Im from Sweden ;)

the way em interchanges rhyming syllables and alliteration is crazy like whos the king of these rude ludicrous lucrative lyrics...a lot of his songs, alot of rappers in the 90s use various poetry techniquea in their rhymes using alliterarion, word play, and I know this is a 2000s song but its quality like stuff from the 90s, really like JayZ better than Royce and ems renegade verses are poetry, so many intricate rhyming patterns word play and alliteration, its really art man.

this song is a CLASSIC!! Em and Royce both kill it! And Jay's version doesn't even compare; Nas was correct, "And Eminem murdered you on your own shit!!"
@KvSwooo12 жыл бұрын
this was written in the 90s, eminem and royce used were a duo (bad meets evil) until some shit happened with royces deal/solo album(something to do with royces manager saying stuff about dr dre in a magazine) not sure if it worked out for the better, but you got d12 in place of bad meets evil

Em AND Royce killed Jay on this. I would like this version better hands down if Em's voice and the beat sounded more like the original. But Royce kills it! I like how he sounds vicious like Xz

This originally was gonna be for Royce Da 5'9"'s album Rock City before Eminem gave it to Jay-Z. Royce Da 5'9" & Eminem needed something for Royce Da 5'9"s Rock City album for both of them to be on. They had the song Rock City done already but Royce Da 5'9" didn’t have an Eminem verse and Eminem was executive producing the album, so they did this song together Royce Da 5'9" said “Jay-Z was at a deadline and he had been asking Em to get on something. Em didn’t want to miss Jay’s deadline because obviously he respects him. I don’t think he had time to go in and do a whole new joint, so he called me and asked if I was cool with just giving Jay that one and we’ll just do something else. I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s cool.’ “Why would I feel regret if that’s one of Em’s signature songs? That’s a great thing for him and I don’t think the song would’ve reached the potential it reached with him and Jay-Z if it was me and him because Interscope wouldn’t even clear him for that song anyways. I think it was something where they were willing to give us video rights for ‘Rock City,’ but if they cleared ‘Renegade’ we wouldn’t get single rights. It was a long time ago so I can’t really remember, but I do remember there was a little bit of politics involved to where I’m glad that he gave it to Jay because the song would never have reached the potential it was supposed to reach. It’s a good thing.”

@zsharpe04 i dont see what about jay's is deeper - it was far from classic, especially compared to em's verse and the rest of the album. secondly, a good track is more than just the words on paper - not only is royce lyrical but his flow & cadence on this beat are siiick. plus the combo of his style with em's is incredible. jay and em dont have the same chemistry

nope thats not why em and royce cut ties..it was because em promised that he would sighn royce right after he finished with his own project but instead worked on d12,and then royce dropped out as ems hypeman...at a very crucial point,and d12 took this as a betrayal....and so the beef starting including eminem.

Jay's sleepy malnourished delivery is his style and its hard for him to ever kill it because it sounds like someone hitting puberty is spitting a sick line, where if you have a decent lyricist with a good delivery will just naturally sound better than Jay no matter how sick his lines are. Character flaw...

Why does royce steal eminems flow from Dead Wrong for his verses?
@bayerhead12 жыл бұрын
No, your just looking way too deep into a media story, rather than looking at it from a business perspective. Royce didn't need Em to move his career up at that time. Em only had Shady lp under his belt. Royce was going to get signed but his manager screwed up the deal and Dre dropped the deal. It was out of Em's hands. The bad words Royce made later were just out of aggression towards that, plus it was a way to hype his name. Anybody in his position would have did the same thing
@matpsycic13 жыл бұрын
Thing is maybe royce is the only guy that can feature with eminem and still not get killed, In jay-z eminem renegade, eminem just kills jay-z.

Thats bullshit. Eminem didn't appear on any of the disses between d12 and royce or ever say anything about him. It's fact that Royces manager outted the ghost written lyrics Royce did for Dre. Look it up. It was all over bad business with Royces manager
@CameraMan918212 жыл бұрын
True. I used to think that, but if you look at Jay-Z before he changed his style( to adapt to the media) you will realize that he is pretty good. Jay-Z has been in the game for a long time he newest stuff is all for the radio. But there is no doubt eminem is much better.

Royce's first verse has the same exact rhythm as Em's verse on Big's "Dead Wrong". So I guess they just took his rhythm on that after Dre dropped Royce cuz Royce wouldn't fire his manager... That's weird. But Em is great on Dead Wrong. And the version with Jay-Z is great because it shows even more how great Em is cuz he does a lot better than Jay and it's produced better. So everything turned out for the better.

Bullshit if anyone says that Jay-Z's verse wasn't good. It was better than Royces. It flowed way better and was much more on topic. Also, Royce used a good bit of Em's flow from "Dead Wrong" but his verse pales in comparison to that. Coming from someone who really likes Royce Jay's verse was way better.
