It’s so much more sad when you realize all the things he was talking about were things he would have missed had he died when he overdosed. For him, for his daughters/family this is a very happy story, obviously with pain. The sad part about this song is there are drug addict fathers that do not make it to the other side. Really sad song. I am a recovering addict, or whatever you call it, gardening and bodybuilding help me, unfortunately not everyone has an outlet.

Feeling for someone you don't know is just called empathy. Too many people don't have it, or suppress it because "why should I care about a stranger?" But empathy is a core part of being not only human, but a *good* human. Embrace it, even when it hurts, and learn from others' pain and pleasures as they may learn from yours.
@OlSmokyDaBear2 ай бұрын
It's a nice thought but that isn't what empathy is. It's the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Has nothing to do with whether you know them or not.
@KBRoller2 ай бұрын
@@OlSmokyDaBear That's my point: empathy doesn't discriminate based on personal familiarity. Empathy exists for your friends just as much as it does for strangers; it's all the same.

I thinknits from the perspective of Slim Shady This is when he died. Drugs got him
@KBRoller2 ай бұрын
I don't think it's from Slim's perspective, as much as it's from Marshall's perspective if Slim (and the drugs) won.
@kmhbelieve2 ай бұрын
@KBRoller Slim Shady died with the overdose. I think he wants people to understand why he can't bring slim shady back. His daughters are too important and as a person he has to focus on sobriety. The only way slim could come back is thru a portal from 2002, and that's the concept of the album. That's the only way to bring Shady back, because he died in the overdose.
@charg1nmalaz0r512 ай бұрын
@@kmhbelieve Nice theory but slim doesnt actually have anything to do with the drugs, he was doing slim shady before he did drugs. This slim shady being a result of drugged up marshall is a recent invention to the character

What appearing with jelly roll combined with his story. I would have known nothing of him if I hadn't seen a collab of him with Ronnie radke falling in reverse. I am an emotional overload myself but almost the opposite of yours. I had no information and had never listened to anything remotely related to Eminem until this last month or so. A strange thread of things going through the videos I was discovering by reactors led me to finally check him out. When was the first person to listen to rappeling then somehow falling in reverse had all these genres mixed into one song then between the two of them I kept saying things about NF and a new thing came out his hope song that apparently was also something that was accumulation of all his past and a lot of resolution after therapy. in that credit was being given to Eminem and mentioned a lot right at the same time then everyone started reacting to Houdini as it came out. Another video / song for every line apparently was reference to some other well-known thing in his catalog. I was hooked. Checking out this songs that have the connections at the same time learning more about the journey of Marshall Mathers. It's like I've had a crash course and I've been so intimately entwined with everything about him all of a sudden there's this and it is like a punch in the gut with the pain that he's portraying. Anyway... Just blabbing along letting you know that it's not just for the initial fans even though I know that has to have an exceptional figure impact as well. Guess we don't realize how much the music and the artists are are ingrained into us. Thanks for keeping it real.
