I was doing some promotion for a bill my band was on and one of the acts said "It's not a competition". Hell yes it is! I'm there to make the other bands either want to quit, or want to get better. If I open I want to set the bar so high you have to take 3 extra steps to get up enough speed to clear it. And if I close I want that stage to be covered in ash and cinders when it's my time to go on. I think we have gotten away from what Busta is talking about here.
