It’s one of my fav albums ever tbh... I never understood the hate either.. it’s better than Relapse, Recovery, MMLP 2, Revival & Kamikaze imo... and I like all of those besides Relapse. The accent for me on Relapse is just too much.. I get why people like it for the production and dark slim shady style lyrics but the accent throughout the ENTIRE fucking album ruins it for me. Encore is amazing to me and has Like Toy Soldiers which is one of my top 5 Eminem songs ever.

There are a lot of moments on Encore that I really enjoyed, but unfortunately he was struggling with a lot of addictions and probably other things at the time. So he wasn't all there and things got murky, resulting in the album suffering for it. It could have easily been his greatest album, but it is what it is.

Encore honestly wasn't that bad. The real Encore album was done before his drug issues heightened. The only reason their were trash ass goof songs was certain songs that were good leaked and em was forced to make replacement songs last minute. Majority of the album is actually pretty good

Em said in an interview that [4] songs had leaked, 2 of which we know as We Are Americans and I Love You More from the Straight From The Lab EP. He never mentioned what the 2 other songs were though, but here's what i think: While Can-I-Bitch is a good diss track, it does not sound like official album material and Em doesn't usually include diss songs on his albums unless if it's targeting multiple people. (Marshall Mathers, Square Dance, Say What You Say, Bagpipes From Baghdad) Doe Rae Me does not a verse from him and was released on a DJ mixtape a year prior purely just made for some fun material from him. I heard "Bully" was supposed to be on the album as Em says in his book "The Way I Am" which would make sense since it does have an Encore vibe to it. I don't think it would fit though, as with the other diss tracks because of Like Toy Soldiers where he is basically denouncing the beef. I could imagine that song was recorded after the beefs had settled though. Not too sure about Ricky Ticky Toc being an official album cut or not but i'm guessing that freestyle was just made as an addition to the album, nothing more. That leaves us with "Monkey See, Monkey Do" and "Come On In" which are both great songs. The filler songs he recorded most likely "My 1st Single" "Rain Man" and maybe "Big Weenie" in place of Bully and "Come On In" in place of "One Shot 2 Shot" since it is a D12 posse album cut.

The label followed a format that covered his 3 personas and also a content format and were avoe to be diverse.... The format was: 1st Single: Funny/Controversial (Slim Shady) 2nd Single: Gritty/Real (Eminem- controversial for being edgy) 3rd Single: Heartfelt/Emotional (Marshall Mathers) They followed that Format up until "Recovery" where "Not Afraid" broke the Slim Shady/Eminem/Marshall Mathers format and was the Marshall Mathers persona. Even the D12 albums followed that format but lacked 3rd singles.

Okay my opinion on encore, it's a brilliantly set up album good concept the beats are very good he shows a lot of heart and emotion. But towards the end it becomes a bit jokey, now jokey is cool and funny and all and its bold of him to mix it together the way he did but in the case of encore it was inconsistent so it may have backfired on him a bit, but overall it maybe his worst album In comparison to the others but come on it's pretty good
