The song doesn't(and likely wasn't), meant to be a radio hit single, but rather a retrospective and personal song to give listeners insight on his mental state and life.

yall sleeping on em the GOAT (fuck Andre 3k, Biggie, Mf Doom, Juicy J, etc) , when he says that trump is "orange" he drops a quadruple entendre which fights the status quo by saying that spraying tan is not ok taking a jab on todays society ringing back a bell of the play An Inspector Calls in which the Inspector takes justice into his own hands. Of course, Eminem is attacking the establishment!!!! He also attacks the yellow media (since yellow and orange are the same shit duh) making a case for Trump himself (to show that he coniders both sides argument when killing trump). This is great lyricism by Em as always which has 7 classics MMLP TES SSLP Encore Recovery Relapse Infinite and possibly The Black album (because jay z is wack and em renegaded him making the entire album his property)

What people have to think about is that how hard it is to be Eminem. The guy has been there , done that. He has went to the moon for you guys now you want him to go to Mars? Put yourself in Eminem's shoes before he made Beautiful, Spacebound, Stan etc. Now you are Em. Now you have to live up to the reputation of being the best lyricist known to mankind, and deliver hits. You feel your rhymes are actually good. Then you chuck it and make a new one. Keep this doing everyday.On repeat. Just thinking about that makes my soul hurt, but there is Em actually living it. Just stay away from mumble rap Em. Please. I don't usually go cray, but if I see Eminem ft. Migos or some shit like that I am gonna loose it.

Man, Eminem has been aware & conscious of what's going on/bein' said about him for a LONG time. This is just him addressing it, as he's done in the past, but this time in a vulnerable & humble way. This track, imo, is one of the more personal & revealing songs that I've heard in a long time, and I absolutely love it.

I love em he's one of my favorite artist and I personally enjoyed the song, it wasnt his best (obviously) but it wasn t trash, the flow was kinda boring until the 2nd verse and 3rd, the lyrics were good because hes starting to realize he's not as big and the thing that made him big in the first place is dying out, but the one thing I do hate is how he sorta says he's not godlike/ as big as the following rappers he said, and I said bullshit, even if 2pac and biggie were alive they'd be in the same problem as em, eminem is a legend and always will be. I dont think the tome is staying on the album as well....but yal seem to miss the point of - whatever man ...THE WORLD IS FCKED ANYWAYS Joe the fact is eminem chose not to use drums or beat for a reason, he wanted to get his message across, and he did, Most rappers have message they wanna send but they cover it with beat and the listeners could care less about the message, thats why no one knew xo tour life was a depressing song yet yalll jammed to it in the club. smh

And it always feels like I'm hittin' the mark 'Til I go sit in the car, listen and pick it apart Like, "This shit is garbage!" Those bars resonated with me as an "artist", almost gives me comfort that someone so big is that self critical also.

It's good for a Eminem fan, but I'm one of those fans that wanted him to spazz the fuck out. I need to know if he can still hang with today's top rappers, skill and numbers.
@B4raCk0s4Ma7 жыл бұрын
KilBarz he can definitely hang and stomp most MCs when it comes to skill, but his concepts are so corny and boring now. Em just can't keep up with all the modern struggles and problems with society for some reason.

Bill I Did Not Bang That Woman Clinton I mean yes, I know he can if he feels like it, but part me feels that he needs to let that be made a lot more crystal clear. All he needs is a change of sound and we good.

I bet y'all said the same thing when J. Cole dropped "4 your eyez only" he's so boring, I want that "No Role Modelz" Cole back. They don't have to make party, club music all the time.

Honestly, the thing i find with eminem and his song is that i have to listen a couple times to really get into it, so i did that for Walk on Water, and honestly, i love it. I'll admit that the first time i listened to it, i was a little underwhelmed, especially when he comes in for the first verse, but i love it now. Really enjoying it, i recommend listening to the song a couple times and you'll probably get into it.

I’m legitimately shocked to read these comments. A perfect prime example on how people only look for flow and catchy beats and not lyrics. This song literally talks about that. Sick of this generation man And Ak, for a dude who praises drake and new school mumblers, shouldn’t have a platform to influence more kids, can’t respect or value his opinions at all

Eminem is pure, raw talent. The rap game now is gimmicky. He doesn’t need to conform to today’s rap game but his lyrics show growth.

well i'll be damned. this was a good conversation. I kinda liked the song, but I'm not sure I will listen to it again, either. To me it's very relatable, in terms of themes like self-doubt, fear of failure, pressure, and all that. It is interesting to seem him rap over just a piano even though his flow wasn't my favorite, but I didn't think it was terrible. The only thing that genuinely annoys me, is the writing and crumbling paper sound effect. That, to me, is not only grating to listen to for a full 3-4 minutes, but it is really on-the-nose, message wise. Like he's rewriting his lyrics, because he's all unsure. I get it, it's just really literal, almost to the point of being a little cheesy, IMO. Em stans, don't kill me. I love the guy, I just didn't love love love the song.

Eminem has always been like this. Every since Encore with the whole curtains closing scene. To Relapse to Recovery to saying he's washed in MMII. He's not doing it for fun it's always to prove himself. Yet there is nothing left to prove.
