This beat is Probably in 6/8 or 12/8 with a bunch of swing But there's also a lotta random fills with some of them happing midway through instead of at end of the measure What most of you guys are used to is knowing exactly where the 1 is going to hit So for example if I say "boom clap boom clap" your expectation is for me to say "boom" next but what's happening here is "boom clap boom clap clap boom clap boom boom clap" Most rapping is very dependent on knowing where the downbeat is and when you try to rap over something that plays this loose it's very hard to stay on beat. so what Eminem does to be able to rap over this is to ignore the pattern all together and keeping time in his head! so for him it doesn't matter where the downbeat is because he's not using the beat to rap he's using his own internal rhythm which is insane and a very hard skill to learn
