Verse 1: Slim Shady Verse 2: Marshall Mathers Verse 3: Eminem Listen closely to how he changes the flow and the writing style in each verse and you'll hear it… Verse 1: You can tell this is Shady by the ridiculous accent and continuous word flow (ie. "having creepy visions of whiskey drinking and envisioning sneaking into where Christie Brinkley dwells" almost all these words rhyme with each other in the duration of 2 bars). Also, Shady tends to use people's names to express what he's trying to say rather than simply saying it (ie. Too $hort's "Freaky Tales", Christie Brinkley, Steven Avery). An honorable mention is that Shady is infamous for talking about alcohol ("having creepy visions of whiskey drinking") Verse 2: You can tell this is Marshall because of the aggressive tone, slower flow, and more honest undertone (ie. "think I'm becoming a monster cause of the drugs that I'm on"). Also, unlike the other two verses in this song, in this one he seems to not remember any of his murders. It makes sense because Marshall, compared to the other two personalities, has barely murdered anyone in previous songs and is more human, so he's being framed by them. Verse 3: You can tell this is Em because of the more shifty flow, more complex rhyme scheme, verbal threats, and his references to pop icons. Unlike the previous two verses, Em strings together multiple words to create rhymes and mostly puts his rhymes at the ends of the bars. Unlike Shady, he names people for the sake of rhyming, rather than for painting an image, and unlike Marshall, who names people to move the audience's emotions. Eminem is known for threatening to kill people (especially in a calculated manner, unlike Slim who kills people almost randomly and out of sheer whim, and Marshall who kills people out of an almost blind rage). I know, I know, I'm a Stan. But hey, the more you know! Edit: I was looking back at this comment (thanks for the likes) and realized that if my theory is true, then the personalities are presented to us in this song in the same order they were presented to us in the beginning of his career with his first albums; Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, and The Eminem Show. Edit 2: I can't believe I got a thousand likes from this stupid comment. I just made it as a little fun theory after listening to the song a lot, but I guess some people think I'm reading way too much into this (which I probably am). It really came from the part where he says "three personalities bursting out of me please beware."

Framed is absolutely a prequel to 3 AM, in the end of the video he’s in the mental hospital and the detective/doctor keeps looking at his watch and it shows that it’s 3 AM when Em realizes he’s in the hospital. Then we can infer that it leads directly into 3 AM when he murders the people in the hospital. He’s even got the same bandage on his right hand in both videos.
