2020 is the worst year ever. My wife left me this year, and this song really hits different now. We were best friends, my whole world was her. My dad died when I was 6... I remember loving this song and singing it and him always telling me to be quiet because he loved the song just as much as I did. He always thought someday I will be famous for singing. 15+ years later and this song still reminds me of my first love. I miss being that close to someone and every once in a while, I wonder what would've happened if the circumstances had been different. I'm not sad about it. (He met someone and they're raising kids together and I am happy he found love and happiness.) It's just one of those things you ponder and know your life could've turned out so different if you'd just taken one road instead of another. No telling if it would've been good or bad, but certainly worlds away from where you're currently at.

You stopped eating and drinking and I think that's what led to you leaving so fast.. when I saw you a few months before that you didn't look sick, you looked almost perfect for being as old as you were but little did everyone know you were sick.. you knew or so you say you did.. how could you keep it from us.. your family, your blood. We were gonna find out anyways. Why not tell us sooner. You went through it all alone... you could have had people there for you.. with you.. Dear Grandpa, February 14th, 2016. I didn't know you that well.. you were my dads dad.. I don't know him very well. I remember bits of you but so much that the pain was unbearable. It hurt yes, I loved you yes.. but I hadn't seen you since I was 6.. I'm now 17.. how do you cry over someone who wasn't in your life? It hurt yes. I teared up yes. But I didn't cry profusely. My brother didn't even know you passed away until a week ago when I said something thinking he already knew.. my dad, your son didn't have the nerve to tell him or me. I found out by my mom because he texted my sister. "Your grandpa passed away" THATS A GREAT TEXT. How about a call? My daughter died May 3 of this year. Her mom put her in a car with no brakes with her drunk and high friends and they ran into a tree. She didn't even make it to 2 years old. 2 days after she died the DCFS paperwork came in for an emergency custody pull. If she had lived two days longer I'd still have my baby girl. my four year old brother died because my dad was so drunk that he didn't see him walk off a dock and he didn't even try to save him when he did see it. my parents died later in 2010 due to alcoholism #karma'sabitch

I lost my mom to this horrible coronavirus. The pain is tremendous, i dont know if i would ever recover from the pain. The only thing i hold onto is the thought that she is happy in heaven and that soon i get to see her again..

I'm visiting my girlfriend who lives in Westland, Michigan, From my hometown of Columbus, Georgia and she played this song and it made me think about us. We hadn't seen each for 2 years since she moved to Michigan from Harris County, Georgia. This song reminded us of how close we are and in love even though we are 12 hours apart from each other. That didn't stop me from driving all the way up to visit. This song reminds us of how close we are.

What hurts the most is knowing that if you come out to your parents, they will not accept who you truly are and when you go to school nobody cares about you, they would rather have you dead, and when you come home, you still have that pain on your shoulders that nobody will accept who you are so you are on the brink of suicide.
