An ILS approached was performed, this is where an aircraft automatically lines itself up with the runway, and also handles certain segments of the descend. The pilot took over control( " manually" ) probably when the aircraft was about 0.2 nm form the runway.

@cesky69 Windshieldwipers are mostly independently controllable on airliners. So the Captain can turn on his wipers while the FO doesnt need them because he looks mostly on his Instrument Panel for instance. Seems that this time they did not turn them on simultaneously ;)

Nicky,two bars is called a Junior F/O..He is still a certified F/O for the airline,therefore,enabling him to have a right seat placement...some airlines don't have a junior F/O..

When you're well trained and seat on the crew's seats, you will be able to observe whatever is outside. And don't forget they're flying under "IFR".
