Well in some cases security get involved., and then managers.. In really bad cases like what happened to one of my friend’s.. The manages of both crew got involved and moved the nightmare flatmate to a different accommodation. But that’s quite an extreme case scenario. 😅😅 But it’s possible if no other solution

Hi Priyanka, This virus shattered the dreams of too many.. 💔 To be honest it’s very very hard to say with Emirates. We are all wondering here about the same thing. If they would value the experience and rehire the people they let go or would they just get fresh younger faces. Redundant crew have been told that they might have a chance of being called back. But then again there might be a lot of deciding factors such as age/previous record in the company ect. So not all the redundant crew would be eligible and company might just look for fresh new people. It’s really really hard to say. We all just have to wait and see what happens. I’m sorry I couldn’t give you a guaranteed answer. But to be honest no one knows what the top management would decide. All I tell everyone is not to loose hope. 🤗🤗

After one year of joining you can change your apartment according to availability. Then the move will be free. But if you want to move under one year you will have to pay a 1000AED. I would say the Lulu supermarket is quite cheap. And smaller less big brand supermarkets are always cheaper . 😊😊😊

Hello I have a few questions. 1 - as cabin crew are you allowed to film onboard using a camera. 2 - how long before the flight is the wake up call. 3 - when you get promoted to business class to you only work in business class or alternate between economy and business.

Hi Isaac, happy to answer your question. 1. No, at Emirates you’re not allowed to use mobile phones onboard or film anything onboard. 2. The wake up call outstations is typically 3hrs before the flight departure. After 1hr from the wake up is the pickup. But in Dubai the briefing starts 2hrs before departure. 3. All crew only work on their respective cabins. So business class crew work only in business. Exceptions are when you’re on standby on your reserve month. Every 7-8 months you get a reserve month where you have no roster and the entire month is on standby. On such standby sometimes you’re pulled out of grade. So a business class crew can be pulled out for economy class or even first class. Hope theses answers help ☺️☺️

In some destinations we stay in airport hotels that we just walk 5-10 minutes to reach the hotel. Whereas in some cities the hotel is far.., sometimes driving over 1hr to get to the hotel. So that really depends. But once you get to the hotel and after checking in, you’re free to go as you please.

How many hours do you fly in a month? And when do you get holidays in a month.. Means.. If you fly 90 hours per month, then what do you do in the left time of the month other than 90 hours? Where do you live that time? And what is the time distance between 2 flights?

Hi Sonam, Before Covid we flew an average of 80-110 flying hours a month. Please do understand that this consists of ONLY the block flying time. This does not include time from when you sign in for duty till take off. This also does not count any ground duty time, nor does that count the layover time. So the actual time on duty is much ,much higher. Just because you FLY 80-110hrs a month, that does NOT mean that you WORK only 80-110 hours a month. We get a mandatory 8 days off in a month. But you could get more days off depending on your roster. Currently due to Covid and lack of flights, crew even get 15-20 days off in a month. But the mandatory requirement is to get minimum 8 days off a month. You live in your accommodation always. Or in hotels when you go on layovers. Again, just because you FLY 90hrs a month, that does not mean you actually only WORK 90hrs a month. Like I said you might only get 8 full days off in Dubai. You get 30 leave days per year. Which you can break into minimum slots of 5 days or maximum slots of 20 days. There are other types of leave as well however this is the normal leave that you are entitled to in a year. Distance between flights can vary due to many factors. In Emirates the minimum rest between two flights is 16hrs. But otherwise you could get 1-5 days off between flights. ULR flights have a mandatory 2 days off before and after the flight.

Pilots get a whole apartment or villa to themselves. Emirates has built their own cluster of villas just for the pilots. Usually each pilot gets one villa for themselves and their family. Pilot’s families can live in the company accomodation too. Including children.

Hi again KemKem, To be honest, they already provide a lot of facilities that most employers don’t provide. Paid accomodation, transport, water/gas/electricity.. This is already a lot more compared to what other companies are giving. Even in Dubai. Most employers don’t even give housing. When we first come to Dubai, Emirates gives us a 2000AED allowance to buy necessary electronics that we need. This allowance is however deducted later from our pay. After we start flying. So we can buy a lot of necessities from that. To me what they have already say was so lavish! Haha. More than I’ve ever experienced. So I had no complaints ☺️☺️☺️

What happens when you deadhead On a flight?

A deadhead flight means you’re not operating one way of the flight. So you get to sit in business class or economy for that sector that you’re not working. You’re just like a normal passenger. And then the other sector you work.

@@thomassmith8793 you would have a layover. But it could be a reduced layover. So not as long as a normal layover. But on some occasions especially after covid, the deadheading crew operated straight back. There was no layover, due to destination restrictions. But that was rare

@@auraintheclouds thank your for the reply. A coupe of question regarding the live out allowance. Can you spend more than the allowance. So for example if it was 1000 pounds allowance and the rent was 1500 pounds. And if you are married do they have to live with you or can you live on your own if they live in a different country.

How long does a flight have to be to have a break In the crew bunks.

Flight that’s are 9-10 hours usually get a break. But it’s seat rest at the back of economy, where a few seats are blocked off for the crew. The break is usually it’s 45min-1hr. Some 8hr flights also get a break depending on the load.. All other flights under 8hrs there’s no break. But if there’s space in economy available there will be 4 seats blocked off for the crew so they can have a “meal break” for 30 min.

@@alicejones8472 you won’t get two seperate breaks. You will get the crew rest in the bunks. But that doesn’t mean you’re not given time to eat. You’re given time to eat after every meal service in any flight, long or short. But in this case you just stay in the galley and eat.
