How times have changed lol. I created an Anime Art Club at my school last year for weeb solidarity and to teach kids how to draw. It's actually been great- we've got a regular turn up of people and we do fun art projects together (atm we're doing glass paintings). Also literally half of us play genshin so it's practically a genshin fanclub in there. *Our club doesn't have those 'bad apples' tho haha😅 just a bunch of slightly awkward introverts

It can be pretty hard sometimes, especially at first, but I believe that optimism and enthusiasm go a long way (I'm not optimistic acc, only when it comes to teaching bc it helps others). I think the most important thing to keep a club going is the rapport you have with the students - just ask them about their day, what they're drawing at the moment, if any tea happened in class, and open up to them a little too- tell them about yourself, something random that happened to you etc. I'm an introvert myself, but I have a habit of putting myself outside my comfort zone as ik it's important for self-development. I also recommend dragging in a couple friends to help you, art friends too, so that you have a support network and not all the lesson pressure is on you. One of my friends was a lot more introverted than me and was really afraid to speak in front of a class, but as time went on they got more and more comfortable and they can now do so many more things that they were afraid to do before, it was really amazing to see their journey in opening up- so don't worry, keep going, as passion and some hard work and time can get you places! Don't know if this is helpful, but I tried.😅

So here's my experience with Studio Ghibli...and maybe this speaks to the fact that movies are scarier than books for me. I read the cinematic comic when I was a child. There were five volumes, and it was basically the movie but in panels and screenshots. I skipped volumes 3 and 4 because our library didn't have them...and then YEARS later I found out it was a movie and watched it. And then turned it off halfway because it _terrified_ me. It wasn't until college that I decided to face my fears and watch all of it. Turns out, once I got the gist of what was really going on, it was a good movie!

There's nothing pornographic about it Principle: Listen I understand you want to defend your child and claim you read it with them but we all know this is adult filth. Mom: Then explain why it says in the back "All Ages" and again did you actually flip through it. Principle: *turns pale after seeing the rating and white sheet like my manga pages when there was nothing but innocence* .... you know my 10 year old daughter might like this one since she likes Sailor Moon... and the character is closer to her age? Me: yeah she's in 4th grade... you can find it in Barnes and Noble or Borders ****** Was then advised by my principle to not bring manga to school after that due to avoiding getting that awkward situation again... and received an apology from his behavior and thanked me and my mom for the tip offs.. was told later on his 10 year old loves it. Met his 10 year old later on and she was my lil anime sister in high school :D ******

I did openly chat about anime with my small friend group in high school, I even helped start the first anime club at my high school. Those were naive and trying times for sure!
