Lexi pretty much nailed the last one: Airlines do not let children or adults with disabilities sit in exit rows. This is because in the event of an emergency, it's the passenger's responsibility to open the emergency exit for everyone else. It even tells you if you book an exit row that you have to be over a certain age, be physically able to open the heavy exit door and be sound enough mentally to follow flight attendants' instructions on how to open the door. It isn't a case of descrimination, it's a case of safety.
@Trymon1980 Жыл бұрын
Exact, had once this spot in a flight. You have at your seat special instructions on how to open the door, beside the regular safety instructions and a flight attended also told me that I have to open the door in the case of an emergency and should read the instructions. Tough to do this with just one hand.

Yep, and when they ask you if you are able and prepared to handle the task they won't even accept a head nod, you must audibly say "yes" or they will move you.
@__-fm5qv Жыл бұрын
yup not only is there a chance that they won't be able to open the exit, even if it does get opened they do pose a risk to everyone else in potentially blocking the exit if they are unable to get out themselves. Sure it sucks that you effectively have to be put in a position as a disabled person that is harder for you to escape, but it saves the lives of the many. So morally its arguably the right choice.
@carrieullrich5059 Жыл бұрын
I'm sure the airline staff knew exactly where she was, to assist her in an emergency, just as they do for other disabled people and children traveling alone. And no o e unable to open the emergency exit is allowed in that row on purpose.

Fun fact! The saying "the customer is always right!" Originally meant the customer is always right about what they want to purchase. They ask for a lime green suit? Yes,! Right away! We don't give our opinion on what it is they've asked for. It NEVER ment they were always right in any other area and should be allowed to terrorize hard working, underpaid employees because they cant just change the price or honor a year old expired coupon. Go forth and fill out all those cs surveys and tell the managers how great their employees are doing!

The customer is always right is also a stupid rule in a lot of industries regardless; you work there and have a good chance of knowing what they need most more than they do. Clothing? For the Airplane thing, yes, it's a crash regulation. They always want someone who's able bodied and WILL move you EVERY time they suspect you wouldn't be able to open the door, even someone who's "just" obese. It's not a "born out of meanness" discrimination, it's one created out of sheer necessity in case the unthinkable happens to minimize casualties. Life has precedence over "hurt feelings".
@NankitaBR Жыл бұрын
It's the same reason why all hand bags and purses must be able to fit under your seat. You don't want to be in an emergency landing, having to evacuate the plane quickly and tripping over someone else's bag on the corridor or having to jump over the bag of the person on the aisle seat.
@qtluna7917 Жыл бұрын
I'm amazed any news outlet would publish it like this. How to reduce your readership to people who will complain with a phone call the next time you change your logo. And I sorry for anyone with disabilities, but sometimes you just can not do certain things (that's what disability means). And if you go out of your way like the person in the last post, you deserve such severe discrimination as being asked to move for safety reasons. Of all the people in this video, she annoys me the most. I hope the 3 minutes of news coverage were worth it, your photo is now forever linked with your disregard for your fellow humans safety, and AI automation will cause this to red flag future job applications, since you are not even willing to follow safety protocol, any possible employer will be unsure if you are willing to follow work protocols.

Apparently, she didn't book her own seat, so she wouldntve seen any of the potential warnings on the website during purchase, and when they told her to move she swapped with her brother not knowing that the entire row had to be fully able-bodied and -minded, and the attendants never told her why they were hollering.

A month later, they sent us another letter about the garden decorations. They reused the picture from the last letter. We know this because aside from the garden stuff, we had our garage door decorated with Easter magnets and had a Toyota Camry in our driveway. The week after we got the first letter, we had taken the magnets down and had to scrap the Camry because the engine died. They also wouldn't leave us alone about a tree that was there before we even bought the house. HOAs suck. 15:50 I have a service dog. We're explicitly not able to sit in that row for the reason that those need to be able bodied individuals. This is VERY much the norm AND part of the ACAA (Air Carrier Access Act) rulings. The people in that row are expected to be able to assist other passengers after deploying the doors and slides. While I agree, having the extra leg room would be amazing, being in that row is reserved for those most useful in an emergency. And an amputee, or Lexi, or ME are not those people. I'm all for disabled pride and equality, but sometimes, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few!! I won't remove my service dog from a restaurant because Sally Sue is scared of dogs or Gary three tables down is allergic. I WILL specifically make sure that I don't take up a seat on an airline that is reserved ideally for the strongest, most level-headed individuals who might need to save lives. There's a difference and anyone with common sense can figure it out.

I generally always leave 5* reviews when I get normal service because it's realistic. Like in a fast food place, I order, I pay, I eat, I leave, the restaurant was clean, staff were good as they usually are, the food was great as it usually is, realistically what more can you expect? There's always a space to leave extra praise if you felt you got above 5* service. It's more about their performance reviews than your own customer experience, if that makes sense.

I do so love those emergency exit chairs on the airline. I'm a 6 ft tall 300 lb guy. When they ask "sir, can you operate that door in an emergency" I just smile and say, "if there's an emergency, whether or not I can operate it properly is a moot point, its going to open." ... they never ask me to give up the leg room.
@Calvan42 Жыл бұрын
Okay, so I work at an airport and the whole reason they told her she can't sit at the emergency exit row of the plane is due to the fact that it takes both hands and able-bodied strength to open those doors and you need to be able to act swiftly to help save the lives of those in the middle of the plane. They would be on the front lines of getting people out of the plane and every second counts. They are missing one of their arms, which means they can't swiftly open the door and help people out of the plane quickly. So it wasn't discrimination, it's a calculated decision to insure the safety of all passengers when worse comes to worst. She might be complaining that she didn't get the opportunity, but she's not able-bodied anymore, even with a prosthetic, she still wouldn't be able-bodied enough and could potentially risk lives. It's a harsh truth, but the exit row is not a right, it's a privilege and an important role for all passengers' safety. We have strict rules about who is capable of sitting there. A war veteran would be a great fit, as long as they are able-bodied.

For the Reviews one: I ONLY leave a bad review if a person or business was CLEARLY terrible and likely on purpose. Like the one restaurant I went to with my partner when they visited the first time. They were paying, I was broke. The waitress took MY drink order, didn't look at my partner and walked away before they could talk. THEN came back for the food order, ignored my partner AGAIN - so I had to do the entire order. Then a family walked in and she ignored us so long our food came out COLD. It was in a stone, wood fire oven ... - but also the chefs had disappeared when we came in and I only saw one re-appear long enough to make our food [idk what happened with the family, it looked like they had hot, fresh food that took half the time of ours, but I never saw the chef come back out? -- note: the stone fire portion was visible as part of the "aesthetic" so you'd see your food getting fired]. Then the waitress took FOREVER to bring the check [literally it was us and that small family, there was no reason for her to take over 40 minutes. We were there for almost 2 hours and if we hadn't been good people likely would've just left since she disappeared - open plan, small restaurant]. Legit, we paid, I tipped her with the change in my purse and we left. My partner did leave a tip via his card BUT the change tip was something all my fam in food service said is a good way to let a server know "you sucked" - you still tip - but not in a convenient way [I doubt anyone reads a change tip that way though but xD I was young]. I left a review for that specific branch ... needless to say that last time I was in that area less than a year later, that place wasn't there anymore. But yeah if the waitress had been trying her best, talked to literally the only other person at the table to see what they wanted, etc etc - I'd have been annoyed with just the kitchen and the heat of the food if that was the same and not bothered to leave a review because "eh it's just us and they probably didn't plan properly/this was an accident, etc" but after so much stuff stacked up and we had to force her to take a second drink order, it was just ... weird. So yeah it got a bad review because the entire experience seemed pretty messed up. Like I didn't expect the entire staff to return for 2 customers, but the one chef that did return seemed pretty much like he didn't want to make food either - and our food was both cold and burnt [except for the garlic bread, that stuff was delicious] so my review was as honest and thorough as I could be -- but yeah, like I said, had it been any variety of "clearly just a bad day" or "They're trying but failing for some reason" I wouldn't bother. No need to tear people down - especially if it's like "They're trying but company has Bs policies that make their ability to help severely limited in a lot of situations". We all been there in the working world. But - yeah if it seems like you want nothing to do with your customers for no reason, and you literally ignore them/refuse to take orders/etc for no reason [and legit he was from another state, so it's not like he'd been there before and been rude or that she knew him] - it's hard to want you to have a good or just "no" review. People need to know what they're in for [at least when that place was slow I guess]

That lady going on about why the world needs Karens would have had a better argument if she had tacked on “for entertainment” (Dance Moms anyone?)😂

As a kid, a bunch of stores in my area used to have a little screen with smiley faces and the question ‘how did you like our survey’ and i would almost always go up and spam the happiest smiley

My friend works retail in Germany and she is constantly telling me about the stupid people who don't understand how sales work, haggle prices, or act like complete Karens. I am SO glad I don't work retail anymore.

14:41 my plan for a great prank, send someone an image/screenshot of this captcha checkbox, and underneath the picture "if you cannot check the box by clicking on it, you are not real" and just imagine all the chaos and confusion from ppl who don't realize its just a picture

Worf's Simulation Story: Actually, he wouldn't tell the Computer to end the Simulation... He'd just draw his Bat'leth with an Unholy Grin on his face and start chopping Karen into Chunky Salsa... Then, tell the Computer to reset the Simulation from the beginning and continue Chopping... 😄😁😆😅😂🤣

Same Lexi, I have chronic pain that caused some issues with my disc, so I get on a wheelchair up to the plain. I can't do all the duties expected when at the emergency door. If not told to move, I would ask to move.

The aurline emergency row thing, yeah nah, that's not about who gets to leave first in an emergency, the people seated there are meant to be able bodied so they can deploy the chute and help others exit. Frigging ninny, I'm embarrassed she's Australian. We don't want her anymore. Sent her to America, she'll fit right in 😂

One of the funniest YT thumbnails I have ever seen was on a video titled: Hunters vs. Karens. The umbnail was a photoshopped picture of a hunter about to shoot a karen ,but it looked so real.

the furniture thing i can understand. i get paid weekly by my company, so if i see something and go "ill buy it in a week when i get paid again" and then see its gone up whats effectively another paycheck up in price id be a little heartbroken. but thats not anyones fault except the ones who set those prices, and even then its not entirely their fault either. theres a reason those people arent expected to be in customer service if they set the prices.

3:30 wow, Karen went for the manager manager. Ooooh, i remember the water selling one. That's Permit Patty, she called the cops on an 8 year old black girl for selling bottled water to raise money for some class project or something, if i remember right. She yelled at the kid citing the print on the bottle that said "not for individual resale"
