I wanted to tell you about an interesting story. My 20-year-old daughter has a strong affinity for Jane Austen’s novels. Amanda is a creative songwriter. This past summer, she read all six of Jane Austen’s novels, and decided that she wanted to write an album. She wrote six songs, one for each novel. She used musical instruments almost exclusively from the Regency Era. She poured her heart into this project, and eight months later, “Love, Jane” was released this past week. This album really captures the soul of Jane Austen’s writings. For the novel “Emma,” Amanda wrote the catchy tune, “The Game I Said I’d Never Play.” Amanda has had the good fortune of performing live at several JASNA groups. At each stop, each group enthusiastically supported the music, almost with a sense of awe, as they were almost shocked that a young woman could perfectly capture the essence of Jane’s albums. Multiple people asked her to promote this album. Amanda spent almost all of her money producing the album. As for her marketing budget . . . well, she basically has none. We’re just getting word out, hoping that it will be captured by the Jane Austen community. I wanted to know if you could give her album a review.
