I said the exact same thing to my Mom about 10 minutes ago. Yi yi yi...I remember when the Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup & she was a Toddler in Mommy’s arms & her Baby Sister was sitting inside the Cup w/Daddy’s help. Still one of my all time Favourite Family Pictures after winning a Stanley Cup I’ve ever seen. Sigh...One of the very few Skaters from that Era I never had the pleasure of meeting. My only regret of being a fan of Kristi’s, which isn’t a bad one to have when it comes to following a Skater. Especially after the last few weeks.

No one ever talks about it, but it can be so challenging to skate with show lights on you. It was can be disorienting. Also, skating outside feels different. In a rink, yes, it's still cold, but you don't have cold air blowing on you like the night air in the winter months. So it feels so much colder. Wearing a thin show costume can make your body feel stiff. It's hard enough to become accomplished in ice skating with warm layers, indoors, and good lighting to see where you are going. I give them a lot of credit for dealing with all that AND the nerves of performing in front of a crowd on such a small ice rink.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE when ladies ice-skate (dance) with their hair down like this. The beauty of their grace shines out like a rainbow of pure gold. Her mother has got to be extremely proud. Both ladies skated beautifully here.

Having seen this video for the first time, is Kristie’s daughter the first skater presented or the second. I wasn’t able to see enough of their faces to be able to tell. Both are elegant young skaters with a bright future ahead of them.

Both girls are not professional figure skaters. Just because one of them is related to the famous athlete ,does not mean they deserve so many compliments on their performance. If I was skating like them, I would not perform on public. The music is beautiful. I love Christmas songs.
