Captain Swan ... the perfect combination. Even when Hook was only supposed to be a "guest" role, he still had a chemistry that no one has matched with Emma. One of the best scenes ever.

They wanted his character since the inception of the show. and they wanted him in more that season but Colin broke his leg and couldn't do what they wanted him to. He has been written in as a love interest for Emma from the start. Look back at their meetings and listen to the song that is being played. It's their song. Plus the whole princess/pirate "Princess Bride" Buttercup - True Love - As you wish has been there too (Emma's tattoo) There is more too but there is too much to write. Adam and Eddy were on LOST they knew what they were doing with these two from the start

swimfree22 Except they originally only signed him on as a Guest Starring role that was supposed to end in a few episodes. Since he had such a great reception from the audience (for good reason) they switched him to Series Regular at the 2nd half of Season 2 and the rest is history. I'm just glad that they kept him around, Killian Jones is probably one of my favorite characters on the show now.

I think Hook saving Aurora's heart is very significant. It was a split second decision, more of a relfex than anything else, he had nothing to gain from it, and it involved putting himself in danger. Just shows that even in season 2 Hook had the capacity to be a hero

poor Hook, always getting knocked out. Though like most of you, I don't believe he was trying his hardest here. She's had no experience fighting with a sword, he so could have taken her. I don't think he wanted to hurt her. As strong as his desire for revenge was, he liked her too much.

But sword fighting isn't a skill you're just born with. She may be a faster learner then most, but it would still need to be taught. She has experience fighting bail jumpers in our world, but not with a sword. Hook totally let her win.

I agree... He had that bean, he knew either way he'd be getting to Storybrooke. And I think it was partly because he knew Emma had a son waiting for her, and he knows what it's like to be abandoned by a parent (even if Emma had already abandoned Henry, and then he found her and then she got separated and could have easily never seen him again if she lost this fight) and he didn't want to do that to him. He'd already done so to his half brother (though none of this had actually been revealed yet in the show) and he couldn't do so again. Also, he had clearly cared for Emma already, plus the whole thing about the fact that he is centuries old and has all that experience with sword fighting, and Emma had none... It would make no sense for her to beat him while he was trying his best...

+Damonique Maragh Snow and Charming didn't really hate each other and neither did Emma and Hook. Snow found Charming to be a bit annoying and Charming most of the time was chivalrous, but slightly on edge when it came to her because of the fact that she was a thief, and kept hitting him. But towards the end of their first meeting when she gave him back his ring and she tried it on, they began to like each other. Charming Said it himself that as soon as he saw her put his mothers ring on her finger, he knew he wanted to marry her. And Snow tried on that ring the first day they met, so technically they didn't really hate each other, they were just on edge with each other. Now with Hook and Emma it's kind of the same thing. Hook liked Emma and was attracted to her and made a bunch of jokes and innuendos and Emma just found him pretty annoying most of the time. Don't really know about Regina and Robin, would have to go back and look at how they first met, but definitely for sure, neither Snowing or Captain Swan hated each other in the beginning.
