Knightly is one of my favourite Austen heroes, along with Darcy. I absolutely loved Johnny Flynn's understanding of Knightly. He has now established himself alongside Macfayden's Darcy and Grant's Ferrars...

Anya is pretty. But Johnny is the real star of this movie! His ability to take us tbrough a wide range of emotions and convey his deep love and tenderness for Emma is sad and beautiful throughout the entire movie ! I wonder if Austin ever wrote any essay explaining her intentions of Mr Knightlys feelings at the end of the story. Johnny did such an astounding job! But when I see Anya in her interviews she.apprears to be full of herself! She TALKS too much! And isnt gracious enough to Johnny! r

Y K in that case she could have any European background.
@yk24714 жыл бұрын
Her father is Argentinian, she didn't even speak English until she was elementary school age. She was also just referring to growing up in Latin America and having a Latin American cultural background (being used to casually hugging people), which has no relevance to her ethnicity anyway. Not sure what you're getting at, really, when you could've looked up all of this yourself.
@Amateur_Pianist_4724 жыл бұрын
Y K the original comment asked what she meant by Latin so I guessed and you answered. There are a great many things we can do in life and there’s no explanation as to why we don’t, we just don’t.

Too clownish, the story didn't develop right, the actresses playing Emma got the stuck up, awful arrogance part right, but she totally lacks and sweet cuteness the character demands, it's hard to like her. Equisite scenery and sets!

Cynthia Jones Emma is not meant to be liked. She a rich young upper class woman who liked to meddle in people's lives because she thinks she knows best and looks down on those she doesn't think reach her level.
@lizkasapos56054 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen every version of Emma that ever was, and read the book. I thought this film was the most perfect realisation of the book and the two actors brought those two characters to life. Everything about the film was perfect. Emma is not meant to be liked and Jane Austen herself said she was someone only she, as the author, would like. Mr Knightley has always been played as someone who speaks to Emma as a child, but in this version he scolds her as an equal, someone who is disappointed in how she behaves to people. I’ve now seen the film three times in the cinema and have downloaded it to watch several times more. Each time it gets even better.
