According to these highlight Stearns dominated the match but lost both sets, the final one 6-2. It's not just a one off, the WTA do this in EVERY match Raducanu plays. Weird Tennis Association 🤣 p.s. they can't even get her height right on their website. It shows her as 5'7"/1.75m when it is 5'9"/1.75m. Or they can't convert metric into imperial 🤣

Because Stearns hit the far more hard shots, Emma is very rarely hitting the ball hard anymore! Why is that ? She has lost her aggressive style of play that she had in 2021.

@@daver8253load of bs it’s hilarious what some people make up. The conditions were very lively in the first set with the ball flying long a lot. Raducanu tended to be more cautious than Stearns in response to the conditions in this set. After the rain delay of about two and a half hours the conditions were very different and much more heavy, and the play was similarly more consistent.

a tactic against Emma is to hit hard and pull her. LuLu Sun executed well and beat Emma ( +30 UE but 50+ winners ).

Hitting hard is Stearn's style. She plays like that in all her matches. She is very green on the tour (although she isn't too young) and her skills have yet to improve, thus making so many unforced errors.

@@eyeofthetiger6002 For now Ostapenko obviously is a much better player. She is a GS champion and has been on the tour so long. Stearns' weapon is power, just like Sabalenko in her early days. It will take her 3 or 4 more years to mature. She started later than other professional players and is still very green.

What the hell WTA! This is the second video with ridiculous highlights. First set Emma won but there were 6 to 3 in Stearns favour. Then Emma won the second set easily but points were 4 to 2 for Stearns. The person putting these videos together has no clue about what they’re doing.

A great second set by Emma. Very few unforced errors compared to set one, she used the rain delay to her advantage. This was a strong win. 😊👏🇬🇧

Sterns benefited from the rain. She was one break down and Emma served for the set. The delay gave sterns an opportunity to reset herself and pushed for tie break. Regardless, Emma played better than R1.

An impressive win by Emma in straight sets as Stearns is a very good player as was evidenced at the AO earlier in the year when she took Sabalenka almost to the brink of defeat in 3 sets. If Emma continues to play like this then her first title since 2021 surely can't be that far away.

Someone on this channel must really dislike Raducanu. This is the second time for this tournament that the highlights are one sided showing more winning points for the losing player. I counted showing 11 winners for Stearns vs 5 for Emma including showing a winning point for Stearns when she was down one set and 2-5 in the second set. Really bizarre.

I totally agree with the other comments. Every time I watch WTA highlights involving Emma Raducanu, the opposing player always features far more often than Emma does even when Emma wins easily. It seems like the WTA is systematically trying to denigrate Emma Raducanu's performances. Isn't there a watch-dog to monitor these things?

Stearns is a counter puncher - if she can get to the hard shots, they will come back at you harder - then Emma will appear even weaker. Note the last point in the video and who looked more tired during the handshakes.

it was hot and humid - suffocating . Emma plays to hold when up 3-0 in the 2nd set - classic/smart tennis especially for Emma.

Totally agree, Emma says she is happy with the development she has made, but she has lost her power shots! Very disappointing display on the 1st and 2nd rounds. Her serves all to pot, only 57% 1st serves, so many moonballs or soft returns that bounced up enough for Stearns to smash for winners. I used to love watching Emma play but it is becoming rather tedious with rare hits for winners, all so tentative.
