@@Daruma_Studio I don't know if it's any specific experience, rather I think this song is about deep shame and being willing to suffer: "Lay back in salt", maybe "salting" herself as salting the earth to curse anyone who tries to rebuild on it. All of this to feel forgiven, how she'd be willing to sacrifice a piece of herself (won't speak at all) in exchange for another (singing again).
