I had stage two melanoma and surgery was done in USA, November 2021. I had 20 stitches. The place I went had know follow up care after surgery except to take out stitches. I'm now in process of looking for a better Melanoma doctor here in Idaho, USA. My experience was not pleasant. I didn't understand what was going to happen as no body ever explained anything to me. Thank you for sharing your story.

I am from the UK and was diagnosed in 2019. Had WLE and SLNB. So far so good. Excellent treatment. I joined a support group online but some of the members didn't make it through and the experience disheartened me so much that I decided to leave the group. Videos like this are are invaluable and relatable. My very best wishes for a full recovery.

Hi Emma - I am so sorry that as a beautiful young woman you've had to deal with all of this at such a young age. I'm a lot older than you and can remember in the 90's it was rare to hear of someone, in our small town, being diagnosed but today it is much more common. I have learned so much about cancer over the years from watching documentaries like yours. One big thing I see all the time is at the time of diagnosis whether the lymph nodes are involved. The cells from the tumor can break off + if they do they spread through the lymph or the blood. Your your lymph nodes were clear. If they travelled by the blood there will usually be a different tumor found in about 4 months in a different part of the body. When they do the pathology the cells will be those from the melanoma site. So given the fact that your lymph nodes were clear + there haven"t been any other problems I, if it was me, would be ecstatic. I believe they got all of the tumor before it spread + you're back to being a healthy young lady free from cancer. I realize that I'm not a Dr but the next time you see one of your Dr's maybe you can ask them, if you like, about what I believe. I in no way wanting to give you false hope but I can imagine having to go + have all the tests every 3 months. I think my life would feel consumed by this disease + I'd be living from scan to scan. On a brighter note I was amazed when I heard you talk about your horse(s). My love for them came back. I had a bad experience though when I was about 14. My friends + I went to a horseback riding place. They were old horses + they had a route to follow. Well they all grabbed the horse they wanted to ride + the only one left was this white horse with a red glint in it's eye. I felt that I just didn't want to get on it but finally did. You know that horse broke out of line galloping toward the feed barn. My saddle wasn't tight enough + the saddle ended up under the horses belly. I was riding bareback hanging on to it's mane. Next thing I knew I was looking up + saw the concerned faces of my friends looking down on me - I'd been bucked off. But to see a baby foal with it's mom would be so special!!! Anyway Emma I wish you all the best! Live a long healthy + happy life + have lots of children. I only had 2 but wish I had of had many more. They are so precious- a gift from God! 🙂 Oh P.S: There's a KZbin channel you might find helpful... "The Patient's Story."

This video is so helpful. My 8 yr old granddaughter was just diagnosed and I’m researching this disease. Emma is so Brave & Beautiful, Thanks for sharing your Journey. My question is has the Drs recommended a Ketogenic way of eating? It’s anti-inflammatory way of eating. I watch Dr Ken Berry MD on You Tube and he recommends this way of eating to treat or put in remission many, many diseases. Keto and Carnivore way of eating would be worth looking into as a tool to assist the treatment your doing now. Prayers for your continued healing.

I too had flesh colored melanoma of my right elbow with wide excision and node biopsy which were clear. Spitzoid melanoma 3 mm depth which put me in stage 2b category. I will be 6 years clear in May 2023, and our path was very similar though I am much older. Blessing to you for sharing and blessing for us both🤗♥️🤗
