i think Leo's accent adds a lovely charm to the movie.

This is the first movie I'm DYING to see in over 2 years, I'm not certain when it's going to be released in the US but I've heard it will be late this year as an Oscar contender and I'm just counting the days in anticipation!

It was funny, retrospective, sexy, and relative. I do agree with Emma. I am in my late fifties and have no children. It has always been a constant explanation, especially when others hear I was in a marriage for 15 years. It seems to be an oddity to others. I will rewatch the movie after this to feel it even more after this excellent interview.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Not surprised you experienced this dishonouring attitude and thankfully the fact that more women and couples are choosing to NOT have children is becoming more accepted! Well done you for choosing what is right for you! ❤

Interesting interview even though I dislike anything "zoom" lately. Sophie Hyde is correct when she says it's the professional actor's job to create chemistry with fellow players, but as we all know, not all actors are capable or willing to do this. The fact that Emma and Daryl possess terrific chemistry in this film is either a tribute to the skill of the two actors and their high level of professionalism, or it's Sophie's skill as a director, or it was a stroke of casting luck, which can never be counted on. Perhaps it's a combination of all of the above, which sometimes produces magic. This movie is pure magic, and it should be seen by as many people as possible.

I agree about chemistry. Though Sophie says it is the actor's job to create chemistry, many times it just doesn't happen. But it really happened in this movie. Emma and Daryl were fantastic and I would love to see an oscar nom for both actors. Their humor and respect for the story came across wonderfully. I can't wait to see Daryl in future projects! BTW, to the interviewer, I know an older woman who has never had an orgasm even by herself. But I really liked your interview!

Nah, you are just projecting that if you get old you will be desired. But it's just a self-deception. She may be a good actress, and I loved her in stranger than fiction, but she isn't desired as a woman. No. Just no.

I agree with you Sarena. It's also refreshing to see a woman with no filter and no plastic surgery. She's in her 60's and looks great...I love this movie and both performances are amazing.

Agree Rosemary Torres. I do not have children either at 59 and I get invasive questions that I shut down immediately; as one never knows what is the contributing factor behind one's reasons/situation. However, regarding the mice, it was great! Probably watched it 6 times already! It gave me a different view and opened my eyes in a few topics. Everyone should have a chance to view! THANK YOU EMMA, DARYL, SOPHIE AND BRYAN!

As a society through out of date cultural traditions, ideologies, but mostly religion,, we have ‘all’ been sexually oppressed. It’s good that this film challenges religion, cultural conditioning and The rolls that we are told that we have to play in our lives. I have yet to see the film. But it seems like it also challenges sexuality between someone that would be considered older, male sex workers & people of different races being sexual with one another as well. It would be interesting to see if the fact that the actors are of different races is addressed in the film (Which could be a hot button subject as well. (At least he looks like a man of color.) Especially given the race & age of Emma Thompson. And I say that with much love. It’s just that someone her age may fantasize about such things. But for a woman of her race and age to actually explore,, being intimate with a man of color,, I find fascinating. The writers of the script and whoever casted the young man,, is really pushing the envelope. Which is great to see) If not,, that’s perfectly fine as well. This film seems to be more about 2 ‘human beings’,, Having an intimate connection. I look forward to seeing the film.

It is just like that, the connection between the 2 characters is AMAZING! You can even feel what they are going through. They portray a "sexual relationship" in such a beautiful and candid way. It is truly a mind opener.

I never wanted to be a mother. I never married, & I've had a relationship with a man 21 years younger, but, I haven't experienced any hassle from anyone for any of this. Nobody judged. Not much anyway. Maybe a lot more people are ok with these things these days. Things are slowly changing.

The interviewer left A LOT to be desired. Haven’t watched it all yet, but how did she get her job? Emma gives an in-depth amazing answer. Interviewer: *giggle* Amazing. Darrell gives an insightful answer as well. Interviewer: mmhm. You did a great job. The rest of the interview played out the same way. Then she misses the point by asking Emma: What do you hope for women who might relate to Nancy w “not the orgasm thing i hope” YES it ALL ABOUT THE ORGASM THING! You watched the movie. Did you even watch any other interviews where Emma says, “ Women are brainwashed to hate their bodies. It doesn’t occur to anyone if women enjoy any pleasure from sex. This movie is saying women need to have sexual pleasure. Its never been considered that woman are ALLOWED to want sexual pleasure. Women don’t need it. We are there for mens pleasure. So YES interviewer… it IS about the orgasm.
@momosaku162 жыл бұрын
she meant it like she hopes women don`t relate to not ever having an orgasm. as in, she hopes most women do have orgasms
@armdendainjeris2 жыл бұрын
I heard it more like the interviewer was ignorant about how many women actually don't experience orgasm at all in their sex lives, like she just didn't want to think that a lot of women would relate to that part of her story. It was ignorant, but I don't think it was about making the orgasm unimportant I think she just doesn't want to think a lot of women watching this film might also have had that experience. That's how I heard it.
@SeasonsChange142 жыл бұрын
While I appreciated and shared the interviewer's oft-expressed fondness for this film, such gushing doesn't make for incisive questioning. The questions were far too long in the making and filled with irrelevant personal comments, as well as verbal tics such as "I feel like" and "kind of." Most distressing was the interviewer's embarrassed effort to dismiss the central role of orgasm, or the absence of same, to the message of this movie.

This generation of people is so confusing. “Don’t judge. Don’t Body shame. Be comfortable in your body. Love yourself for who you are. Embrace your beauty. Imperfections are attractive. Grow old gracefully. Same generation: Everybody looks like a Kardashian. TikTok vids go viral w before and after Crack wh0r€ to Insta model catfish skills. Breast, bum, cheek, chin, bicep implants…at 16y/o! When asked: why do you get Botox and implants when embrace and love your body is your generations narrative? Don’t JUDGE! I’ve always been insecure about certain things of my body! The Botox, breast implants and lip & cheek bone injectables help me love & accept my body. You’re loving and accepting someone else body. Not yours. You’re listening to the narrative of what beautiful is. Somewhere the Kardashians bodies are the symbol of beauty. Not in its entirety, but each little piece of it. Your now trying to emulate them. Ironically you’re emulating a body that is synthetic as well. Damn I just thought of something. For a family that REFUSES to eat & won’t put anything inorganic in their body… do they realize all the cosmetic procedures they have done are ANYTHING, but organic. I digress. I see the point this Gen is going for, but still they are NO different than any of the generations before them. They still hate their bodies. Now it’s just more hypocritical because they have SO MUCH access to cosmetic surgery…starting w Botox and lips over lunch break. Women will always despise their bodies… society will forever see to it that they do. Imagine if we all decided we were perfect as we are? The stock market would shut down!! 😂

I would absolutely LOVE it if women spent even half less time worried about their looks and, more to the point, NO time hating themselves because of how they look. The world would transform.

Your comments are interesting and Valid ❤ YET....to say Women will always depise their bodies is lacking Insight and taking away ANY POSSIBLE Evolution 😮 for and in The Future which we ALL Co-create! 😊 it IS becoming more of the norm for Women to Be truly comfortable in their own body AS IT IS! 😊
