Feminism talks about Equality but as we human are designed into women and men then how can they be equal? Its not for all type of ladies (your case is only for young ladies as they can try to beat men) , moreover case is not the same as you see only in (europe/america==>your all world) Here in asia we see men give respect to women by giving their seat , giving them priority to all age of women, weaker/stronger. There is by default system why you wanna change it as it'll negative impacts... Why not talking about "Equity" ??? instead of "Equality" ??

Feminism is definitely a mental sanctuary for me. Its hard to explain, but being a feminist has helped me prioritize the things that affect my sense of self.

I really appreciate the videos of this channel, but I made the mistake to read comments below. I know that it'll always be haters and individuals who feel the need to criticise everything and everyone. Though, I read a lot of "yeah yeah yeah yeah" jokes. Guys, it is an interview not a debate, just put your hands on a dictionnary. Emma is not here to give her opinion about what her guest is saying, she's here to ask questions and to record the answers. It is the same statement for the peoples who are indignated because of the "apparent disdain" (there again it is the feeling of the people who were complaining) of Caitlin Moran for men and the lack of objection by Emma. She's not here to object. She's here to listen, but that is not a proof that she has the same opinion. You can hate the interview, the peoples who appear on your screen, and you can disagree with everything which is said, but when it is time to give your opinion, try to THINK about things before. You're not complaining because horses can't fly, it is obvious. Well, an interview is not about giving and comparing your opinion with the guest's ones. btw, it would be cool to have a real debate / discussion with Emma Watson and someone else. In an interview with Gloria Steinem she said that she had her own opinions about a lot of questions she asks, it would be cool to know it because... Hell, she's on the front line about feminism. She's some sort of opinion leader even if she seem's not considering herself as wise as the people that she meet (who often have a life of experimentation behind them).

So no one is going to mention the fact that at 11:07, Watson slips up and describes Amanda Foreman as a " major babe"? - I don't know what it means in the UK but that description in the US sounds kind of sexual. She is gay gay gay gay, I'm telling you people . Ty said it first.
@acciolovex8 жыл бұрын
In England its pretty common for young women to call each other 'babe', especially in certain areas. It just means you like them to some degree. 'A babe' as opposed to just 'babe' is slang that we use to say we admire someone, usually another woman.

Excellent conversation, one has to agree with just about everything Emma and Caitlin say, at least I do... I just found one thing a little troubling, Caitlin's idea that women would have come up with a better format than Twitter. I think that she might rephrase that if she could because Twitter is what it is, not the best format for intelligent discussion but it's the format which has achieved its position because of its format, not because it was invented for or by any particular gender.

You speak about problems the feminist movement is facing now. Well.. ...let me tell you why I left the feminist movement. I'm a white male who used to consider himself a third wave feminist. I used to believe that feminism was strictly about equality and NOT about hating men. That turned out to be a lie. I was raised with abusive parents who beat the shit out of me pretty regularly. Doctors misdiagnosed my ADHD, so, when I performed badly at school, my folks would punch me around, thinking I was failing at school just to spite them. One time when I was 15, my father beat me so badly that my mother signed me up for karate classes. She was worried my father would kill me. I was sexually abused by two people at a very young age. One of the people who did it was my foster sister. I was constantly told by my teachers, my sisters and their friends that I was "a problem" or I was worthless. I thought about killing myself ALL the time, and even made plans to do it. Luckily, I was too afraid to go through with it. My skin is very pale, so, I was made fun of every day at school. I would wear hot sweatpants in 100 degree heat because I was too afraid to show my legs. I was oppressed at home. I was oppressed at school. I was oppressed everywhere I went. So, when feminists told me that some women face these kinds of experiences, do you know what they told me whenever I tried to say I had similar issues? "Check your privilege! Stop making this about you! You're a white male, so, you don't know what hardship is!" I truly didn't matter to feminists. This movement about "equality" didn't give a rat's ass if I lived or died. Then I took a closer look at the claims feminists make. I learned about "toxic masculinity" where I was told I was a rapist... simply because I'm male. I took a look at the actions of feminists all over the world. Did you know feminists advocated against fathers getting shared custody of their children in the US? Did you know that men are more likely to be arrested if they call police if their wife or girlfriend is beating them? Seriously, men get arrested when they're attacked by a woman... and that's thanks to feminists. Men make up the vast majority of suicides in the US, but, when someone proposes a "Men's Center" where guys can get counseling, feminists protest to have these centers shut down. The worst part was when I watched feminist poetry slams. I saw some of the most vile and disgusting displays of hatred I could possibly imagine. They spoke openly about mutilating a man by chopping off his penis or slashing a man's throat because he dared to disagree with a woman. It's the kind of hatred that makes hashtags like #killallmen look tame. (By the way, feminists don't seem to have a problem with #killallmen) That's when I realized third wave feminism is truly about hate. I could kill myself in front of a room full of feminists, and they'd applaud. Luckily for me, I realized that I wasn't the evil, oppressive shitlord rapist that feminists told me I was. So, I left. Emma, you may not see feminism as a hate movement, but, that's because the hate isn't aimed at you. But, make no mistake, the hate produced by the movement is very real. I've said this in other videos, and I'll say it here... Feminists want me to hate myself, and I refuse to do that anymore.
@user-vc5rp7nf8f7 жыл бұрын
sorry about what you went through. i have seen some pretty vile and hateful stuff out there initiated by "feminists" but i don't think those individuals represent all of feminism. it's the same with both genders, really. there are some guys out there that think women should be strictly domesticated, without a voice, and whose existence should solely be to serve men. there are also americans who think that their country should only be populated with one race, one religion, and encourage aggressive, militant behaviour to promote hate and xenophobia. but these views aren't shared by all men or all americans. so to generalize all people by the actions of a group would be unfair. the other thing to consider as well is that hateful feminists may have had traumatic experiences themselves (perhaps being beaten, threatened, or raped), and these experiences, much like your own, have forced them to have a very specific viewpoint on things. in the end, you can hate them, they can hate you, but ultimately i don't think that's going to get us anywhere. for me at least, i try to approach things with a bit more empathy and just try to live a just, moral life. if other people want to live a life of hate, then that's on them, but i'm not gonna be a part of it.

“Solo unas pocas piedras realmente me golpearon. Y obviamente no hacen daño. Y algunos muchachos empezaron a gritarme, y luego empezaron a tirarme piedras. Me relaciono totalmente. Me relaciono totalmente.
