Canadian here . ..I personally would try to talk with as many strangers as possible...and the pool...but probably wouldn't get my money's worth since as a diabetic, I tend to eat smaller regularly scheduled portions and NO sweets and drink only water and coffee (no alcohol ) but I'd still have so much fun.

Hi Miss Emma, waving is kinda standard. If you take any of the inter-island ferries, when the ship sails, the shoreside staff usually go outside with flags or light sabers and sometimes music, as the ship sails away. (see: Solo Travel Japan) Haku has collections of ferry trips in his library.

Very interesting to see the changes made to the Spirit. We cruised Rome to the Greek islands aboard the Spirit in 2017 - one of our favourite cruises. Glad to see they changed to the adult pool where the kids play area was. We had almost no kids on our cruise so it sat empty most of the time. Thanks Emma. (A Japan cruise is also on our bucket list!).

We did a Japan cruise back in September on the Celebrity Millennium. It was amazing. You are so right about the Japanese toilets. We were on an excursion, and the tour guide was giving us the run down of where we were going and she said, "There are toilets at our first stop, but they're not very clean. You can use them, but there are better toilets at our second stop . . ." As an American, let me tell you the Japanese idea of a "not very clean" public toilet is wildly different from an American "not very clean" public toilet. I'm not saying I'd eat off the floor of a Japanese public toilet, but the worst public toilet is Japan is miles better than the best public toilet in America, where "not very clean" just means no one overdosed or died there that day (or maybe they day before).

The green cake was likely pandan leaf. They’re long leaves that are used for both sweet and savoury dishes. The taste is sometimes compared to vanilla.

Either that or Midori green melon cake. From how green maybe from pandan paste. My mother-in-law made the melon cake every year. She always had me go to the liquor store to buy it though so her neighbors wouldn't see her in a liquor store. :)

First off I'm Just going to say that Japan is one of my favourite destinations. Three out of my last four trips have been to Japan with a European trip just for a difference. That being said as soon as I saw this Japanese cruise I was interested. I've been wanting to do a cruise but when push came to shove Japan always wins. This cruise will give me a twofer. I've already booked my next month in Japan but before the end of the year this is one the list. I've been to many but not all of the sights you showed but there always more to experience in Japan. Great video. I'm sold.

We have 7-11 in the US, but they're not the same as in Japan. Here they are not known of clenliness and you probably odn't want to buy the food sold there. It's mostly for drinks/snaks, although some of them still sell gas, I think (petrol for you in the UK). On my bucket list is to visit a 7-11 in Japan. :)
