I find that some people are false when posting videos and it's not pleasant to watch, but I can see how you are being you, which is wonderful. Each video is a joy to watch. looking great. I can understand looking for the fireplace..... Our last place was a heritage listed home and one day whilst my Paul was out I took to a bit of a cover up in 3 rooms with a sledge hammer and found the most gorgeous working tiled fireplaces. The sledgehammer has been hidden from me ever since and I have absolutely no idea why. The giveaway was the chimneys outside........ So I can understand your desire to see what is underneath the box..... You are doing a fabulous job......

Also, you made me smile, my husband & I tend to be barefoot also as we do little jobs around our home. And I go to grab the mid-step ladder for him,( like he asked) when I get back with the mid-step ladder, he is balancing on a chair! 😜We are 55. And have done this same ladder/chair routine for many years. You both make me 😊 smile.

I'm sure you guys already know this pro tip, but for some of your viewers, if you have a wall hanging which requires two screws (has two eye hole fittings), place some blue painters tape from one to the other, place a dot, with a marker where the screws would go and then transfer the tape to the wall and level the tape. Screw the screws in where the dots are and Bob's your Uncle! 😃

Yes we learnt that lesson the hardware. When we moved into this house everything was (and most still is) wonky. We used to measure from the ceiling/floor but everything we hung went wonky 🤣🙈 So level and measure it was. But I think we will use the tape idea next time 👍

Well I don't know if this is in the past, but we are also STILL updating our condo for sale right along with you. Fortunately, I was not the one who painted our ceiling, fixed our crown moulding caulking, or repainted parts of our kitchen - we hired someone. Anyway, hopefully there is an end in sight for both of us, however, I'll admit I am thoroughly enjoying your updates far more than mine. :) PS we just swapped our bronze outlet plates for white! ha! as I had mentioned before, we are trying to sell so there is a bit of personal design style that has to be muffled in this process. I love the caning everyone is doing!

Have been loving this series on updating your home. Not sure how you and Simon have gotten through without killing one another, but I'm glad you haven't. And your sense of humor is ah-mazing!! I'm curious if you've noticed changes in your skin throughout all of this. I imagine you've gone quite a few days without wearing makeup (you're beautiful without it) and that's not something many women do unless we're sick. Emma, you have to download the App Ali Express and take a Look there for lamps. Mine Are awesome chandeliers with crystals and they Are really cheap there. Your Style is more scandinavian, so just type in Nordic chandelier or stuff like this.

I think we have found a solution. The ones underneath don't cover the whole front so we would have had to find matching ones anyway. Its a shame as would have been so much easier if there was something we could use under the boxing.

We did think about that a couple of years ago but decided against it and now it would cause too much disruption (new floor, skirtings back off, repainting etc etc, not to mention all the dust and dirt) so we are hoping a little fix will make it look a little nicer ❤️

The true test of marriage, putting together flat pack furniture 😂. Love the dining area light, reminded me straight away of Audrey Hepburn’s hats in My Fair Lady. You’re almost there now the end is in sight 🙌🏻 We were late to the power game and just started it last year then it just finished a few weeks ago. Despite the violence there’s quite a lot of humour at times I thought and also because turtle from entourage was in it and pretty hilarious lol. Onto the outsiders now, bit darker though 😱.

I just pop mine in a guppy friend bag and use the delicate cycle on a cold wash with ecover delicate detergent and then lie flat to air dry 👍

Look at LED lighting. A warm.white or close to 400lumens I think is 'daylight' A cool white is more bluish The old tungsten style bulbs used to be very yellow and not very bright LED lights use a fraction of the same wattahe (4w/produces 60w/of old bulb light) so far cheaper in long run Sometimes the quality or colour of light can vary slightly between more expensive brands Philips tends to have a better colour of light rather than a green blue tinge

Unfortunately it really depends on the lighting. The walls in the stairs looked different to the wall in our lounge. But if you check out my final home tour video you will see the finished product with the sofa we had against it 👍
