Yeh, but maybe it's one to look out for in their 50% off sale they always do on Boxing day? at half price I would say that's worth it because it is very well made, but yep totally agree, in comparison, not the best. It is a beautiful design though and I wore it yesterday and had so many compliments on it, but that price should be much lower 🙈

I love coats! I have a very similar coat ( brown checkered coat) from ASOS by the brand River Island and I LOVE IT!!!! And the best part is I can wash it in the washing machine!!!

Some great picks! Love the H&M brown coat looks so classy and a bit masculine! I get a lot of coats from charity shops (I have a coat problem!) and you can find so many quality wool coats for less than a tenner - would definitely recommend a browse! And I wash all my wool coats on cold hand wash cycle on washing machine (or proper handwash by hand if I have space/time) and none have had any major problems!

I enjoy vintage shopping and I have a vintage video coming up very soon. I haven't quite got into charity shops yet but I need to try a little harder. I would be up for machine washing my coats if I spent a tenner on them but with these because I've spent a bit more on them I wouldn't want to chance it...I'd be heart broken if anything happened to them. Having said that I have so many coats that they never get dirty because I have them all on rotation 🙊

I had to be honest with the Next coat, it's a gorgeous coat in terms of design, very unique and I wouldn't even be that fussed about the 20% wool thing if the price were more reasonable, but alas, it's not. I actually wore it out yesterday and it's pretty warm and it does look awesome so I felt a bit bad about being so negative but the truth must be told 🙊

“Poppers” are our US “snaps”- cute terms either way. I haven’t seen them on coats-I imagine them popping open if you move unless they’re really strong. But I like the kind of utilitarian look they give. Classic collection-superb 👍 I and appreciate the fabric content observations. I usually check if clothing is machine washable (so irritating when something as basic and simple as a T-shirt says it has to be dry cleaned or hand washed and laid flat to dry) but for something long-lasting and meant for warmth the natural fiber content is super pertinent.

I totally understand about items being machine washable. I don't even remember the last time I needed to wash a coat so I usually don't check that, however so many of the modern washing machines have incredible settings on them now for cashmere and wool so even if it says dry clean, you can pop it in these swanky new machines 🙌🏼 x

I just use a tripod, natural light and an additional light if needed. But our bedroom is white and full of reflective furniture so its the ideal place for filming as its a very bright room. The meet up was great thank you 💋

Excellent video (and beautiful coats!) - you do a great job describing the details and fabrications. Thank-you. [It looks like (I could be mistaken) you haven’t yet cut the basting threads off the back vent of that Mango coat? I wish stores and fashion advisors/influencers would start educating about this - I see soooo many girls/young women walking around with their vents still stitched closed. Those long (“basting”) threads, that make an “X” and hold the vent closed, are intended to be temporary, to keep the vent flat during shipping. Once you take a coat (blazer/skirt, anything with a vent) home, you are supposed to cut those threads off, and open the vent. (A vent is a vertical slit rising from the bottom hem of a jacket or a skirt, generally to allow for ease of movement.) The item will look better and wear more comfortably once you do that. Sorry, I just had to put that out there, as obviously it’s a pet peeve for me! ;-)]

I’m in Canada and unfortunately it doesn’t come up when I switch to Canada on the site, on,y when I’m on the UK page in the site, so somehow I have to get someone in the UK to order it for me. In my younger days, 100% wool, with a rayon/viscose lining, for coats was standard, %100 cashmere, with silk lining was premium. The good old days. The worst change for me is using polyester linings, a horrible, unbreathable, clammy fiber. I just got a designer coat, $250 discounted from $500 (US), it’s beautiful, but has a poly lining! Aargh, how clothes have cheapened. It seems like everyone gets to the secondhand goodies before me, too, so I’m going to try off-season, I’ll start looking for coats, blazers and boots in March.
