DAY 31 WHAT IS SIN? Eternity can be expressed either in Life or in Death. If God had not driven Adam out of the garden of Eden & he ate of the tree of life in his fallen state,he'd have become like the fallen angels; IRREDEEMABLE. When you're in a state of death and you have life in that state, you are irredeemable; Fallen angels and the devil are irredeemable. Redemption is going to come by no other means than Blood, the only thing that will be your security is the blood. Exodus 12 v 13b Rom 3 v 35 The reason why Adam could not the scolded the way you scold a child was that Adam was God's covenant child; through procreation, everyone that was born through Adam would have been "fallen" like him because he ate of the fruit of the tree in the garden and something radical happened in his body. The only way God had to change that order was by a second Adam, this is why Jesus had to be born by a Virgin, God wasn't showing how powerful he was, he wanted the second Adam to be free from the corruption of the first so that he can restart everything and this time around not by procreation or being born because we are not if the biological lineage of the second Adam but by ADOPTION. There are many metaphors to describe Adoption, one of which is Baptism; we are immersed into the second Adam. It is by blood & faith in the blood of Jesus that we have access to his grace and are ingratiated and adopted and baptized into the order of the second Adam. Sin was not just a slip or a fall, it was a wage that had to be paid. You have a cloud of witnesses who are saying it doesn't matter what you've done, God can save you ; Paul, the woman of Samaria, etc who had a bad past or history but God saved them and he can save you.

And because redemption could come by no other means but blood, the second Adam (Jesus) was born by the virgin birth free of the corruption of the first Adam to carry our burden and pay our debt by his Blood. The angel of death in Exodus refers to final judgement and the only way to escape is through the blood. When Adam ate of the tree, everyone that came from him became fallen, this is why Jesus had to come from a virgin, He is the second Adam

Sin is more than just a slip or a fault, it was something about our nature that changed drastically. Metaphorically, a state where we were previously described as alien, fallen, blind, dead [in sin]. However, by faith we have redemption through his blood; the forgiveness of sins.
