Emmanuelle Charpentier, Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2020: Her journey to the Nobel Prize

Emmanuelle Charpentier received the Nobel Prize in chemistry 2020 for her discovery of the CRISPR-Cas genome editing technology. In May 2022, she gave this lecture about her discovery, and answered questions from students and scientists at the University of Sharjah, UAE.
This event was part of the Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative (NPII), a global programme designed to help Nobel Laureates share their inspirational stories and insights. By taking Nobel Laureates on visits to universities and research centres around the world, and by capturing their thoughts on video, the Initiative seeks to bring the Laureates into closer contact with the worldwide scientific community, and especially with an audience of young scientists. I remember the mondae for the Nobel In Medicine-disappointment to the max. I had an idea where the Physics would go on the Tuesday. Wednesday I awoke at the start of the ceremony and went back to bed, expecting another disappointment. When I rose from bed and just checked my feed!!!!! Maaaaan, I still get the creeps now. CRISPR should have wins like 5 years ago. And I think that within this field, there will be more Nobel Prizes David Liu is a good candidate.
