Night Safari in South Africa turned out to be more exciting than we ever thought possible! In this Kruger Vlog, we feed wild zebras, kudu, and wildebeest from our Airbnb in Marloth Park. We see herds of elephants and hyenas after a giraffe hunt on our morning safari, save a warthog from drowning, and on our night safari... well, on our night safari we see what South Africa is really made of when a safari truck breaks down and is surrounded by lions.

Never ever underestimate lions at night - especially in Kruger park- they are pretty used to human flesh because of people coming across the “green border” from Mozambique mostly at night. They don’t fear humans at all, because there’s no hunting. I refer to “The Man Eaters of Kruger NP from Robert Frump”- if you like to know more about this topic

I hate that this Airbnb allows you to feed wildlife. Pretty sure that’s not legal in most of the Kruger park. Getting them used to people is the worst thing. Will end up not fearing humans. And get killed by poachers because of people that feed them..

"The guy sounds like a liability".....actually the the game viewing vehicle broke down in the middle of the bush while on a night safari - it happens! So glad you were able to help the other guide out...what you experienced was an adventure. You would have always been fine in a high safari vehicle.

As long as you are in the vehicle, you are safe!!! These lions are habitual of humans presence and their vehicles, hence they don't treat them as preys. But those lions were very curious about the commotions. The Alpha Male who was roaring and trying to show his dominance, and that is really a worrying sign. When confronted the Lions have only 2 options, either subdue the threat or escape from the situation, this Lion definitely not in a mood to leave!!! He wants to assert his dominance. Its very lucky that the other vehicle get started on time!!! And never feed any wild animals, it's a great injustice to those animals. The authorities should ban such reckless things.....

I think that feeding the wildlife is a dreadful thing. I don't blame the tourists but the landlords should know better than to encourage this. Those animals should be eating grass and leaves. I would bet those pellets are made of grain. So bad for them.

Agree - this is not necessary in Marloth the antelope walk freely around the homes and habituated to humans but PLEASE DO NOT feed the animals including birds. The landlords are at fault and nearly caused injury / death to the warthog and possibly humans when he fell in the pool because humans encouraged him to come onto the patio to eat.

SA has a wonderful nature, flora & fauna but this Safari industry is totally overrated. The game drives even in the most expensive lodges are posed and it’s just a different Zoo walk - in a car. After several trials of different Safari lodges we are sure it’s just commercially intended but the companies behind this industry are only focused on profits and they exploit the indigenous staff and do nothing for the society. Yes 🙌 visit Africa but do not look for posed action like in Las Vegas, Disneyland or Suncity. This kind of circuses is pure commercial rip off!!!
