I'm afraid i agree with Chris. He nailed Kathy's façade. Dolores speaks alot of sense too. The Macallisters are so entitled & insipid & i have to laugh at Kim's attempts at 'caring' for Frank. Not forgetting Bettys windups. Thoroughly enjoying Emmerdale at the moment - can you tell ?? 😊 A big thankyou for uploading !

Angharad is up herself and can't really compare to some of the other women of the era (Viv, Kim, Jan). Bernard is a bore, Jess is a brat. I do feel sorry for Luke but he undoes that in a later storyline. Chris/Kathy was a kind of a sham. They got together a wee bit too soon after Jackie's death.

I wouldn't compare Big & Jan in the same league as Kim and Mrs McAllister, those 2 are far classier than a post office couple and a farming couple...even the sugden family, especially the new dull damp sarah!

@@Hulk2k6 yes I agree...Jan, Viv, Betty, were sparky as they spoke their mind freely and sarah too, I find this sarah dull and lifeless like that little boy actor son of theres. The doctor wife was as much use as a chocolate KitKat. I'm talking about the classier side of the Emmerdale women too, like Kim, Zoe etc the Dingle women will never count.

Watching this from the U.S. Fascinating that people wore jackets and ties to dinner parties; this went out of fashion here in the early 70s. Is this an accurate portrayal of norms in Britain or just something they did on these shows?

Not in council estate working class Britain it's down the chippy for dinner Sit-down meal in Jean's t-shirts jacket trainers or pub meal
