This scene was so brilliantly and heartbreakingly done. Chas is tired and happy, having had a wonderful day with her boy and then he just implodes her world but telling her about the horror that happened to him at 8 years old when she wasn't there. But she goes right into Mom mode, and does everything that he needs for her to do. Beautiful acting by Lucy and Danny.

This is what teared up Chas the most. What her son went through with that awful man when he was a little boy. Aaron was crying. Chas was too. Not knowing that this was happening to her son. Her Aaron. And she wasn't there to stop this man from interfering inside of him. This child sexual abuse. And this is a serious crime committed by an awful awful man to an innocent little boy who happens to be Chas's son who she loves and cares about more than anything. Aaron and Eve are Chas's whole world. They're everything to her. Aaron now knows being 2024 now that he can tell his mother anything without judgment. If something is hurting Aaron she'll feel it. She knows her son. She knows his tears and his cries and she knows when he's angry and is hiding something from her. When Chas found out that she had breast cancer all she ever wanted was her Aaron and her to make up and peace with one another and be there for each other just as she was back here in 2016 when Aaron told his mother about this. Traumatizing him to not move on. But he did knowing that he told his mother. It's like now in 2024 Aaron can tell Chas anything and she'll listen and be there for him whenever he needs her. It's 2024 now and Aaron and Chas are back on mother and son good terms again.
