So Jacob texts the dealer at 2pm and goes off to meet him. It's dark by the time they meet, and Jacob gets stabbed. It's then 10am by the time David frees Leyla, and they go looking for him. Unless Jacob was waiting under that bridge like a little troll for about 18 hours, he should be very dead.

Whilst addiction is an awful thing and Leyla is suffering, I don’t blame David for his reaction towards Leyla. At this moment, she brought danger into Jacob’s life by getting involved with drugs. David, as his father, has every right to do what he thinks is in the best interest of Jacob.

David may not be perfect, but he is still allowed to act against on what he believes is dangerous to his son. As for Jacob, yes he shouldn’t be carrying a weapon at all, but he felt like that was the only way to help protect his mother from her addiction. THAT’S where Leyla fails as a parent. No child should feel the need to protect their own parent. The parents should be the ones to protect them.

Leyla isn't a great mom, but David is no amazing dad either. All his women issues like Maya and Meena, the stuff he pulled with Victoria, and his obsession with the shop. Jacob is a grown man, he's not a little boy anymore, he stupidly chooses to go after the drug dealer on his own. They have both done wrong by Jacob, but he's also old enough to know his own mind.

But he is still a young man who thought he was protecting his mother by threatening someone with a knife and it backfired on him. He put himself under that bridge with a knife, not Leyla. She was a big part of it though.

Ok but Jacob is an adult and he made the choice he did. I know he did it for his mom but he locked her in her room and went behind her back with a knife to act like a big man. How is that her fault? And yes it’s very likely that he wouldn’t have made it lying there all that time. I don’t know why they had to put this storyline in tbh.

Exactly, I was afraid to say it lol because I'm always seeing the good in ppl even villains. But when you have a drug addiction it's because you are very depressed and are struggling in life so David needs to support her not shout at her. And to be fair she's not as bad a some drug addicts I think she's done well recovering. It was Jacobs fault in my eyes.

In Soapland, the main characters are absolute goons. Whoever they come into conflict with are the type of people they are just completely divorced from understanding. David and certainly Jacob seem to be oblivious to business above their level. The kid treated his mother like a prisoner and sped off, it all could have been avoided if he even considered having a relationship with her. Leyla is no saint but she's not the one ruffling the feathers with drug dealers, the people around her seem to think they live in a world where nobody does drugs. I had an employer who had a cardiac arrest once, after he came back I doubt it was a year until he was doing some of the sniff again. Absolutely f*ck all chance of this happening in real life, circumstances getting the way they did, if this happened in real life the two men here would be social idiots. Maybe they are, and that's the point in the long run 🤔

I feel they’re both kinda at fault here… yes if Leyla had not gone and bought the drugs, then none of this would ever have happened, but at the same time Jacob should have NEVER, EVER gone out by himself, in the middle of nowhere, with no protection, to confront a dangerous drug dealer. I understand that he wanted to save his mum, but he should called David or Liam, tried to get Leyla back into rehab or at least taken a police officer to the scene to catch Callum, not try to take matters into his own hands. Hopefully he will pull through ok though

Im assuming knife violence is an issue plagueinng the UK.
