The way Charles and Cain looked at each other after Liam walked away. Sometimes the best thing that you can do for someone who is grieving is to sit silently by their side and look out for them rather than bombard them condolences and funeral arrangements.

People need to remember that Cain has lost a child too while being with Moira and as also seen the death of Holly Barton whilst being with Moira too so he is also probably thinking I've been where you're at right now and that's why he just let Liam grieve
@Dourdandepp3 жыл бұрын
Loved that!! How Cain just sat with Liam. It's best approach with someone that is grieving, speaking from experience.
@xxwhispersxx28563 жыл бұрын
Same. The last thing that people want to hear are the "I'm sorrys" and the condolences.

@@xxwhispersxx2856 Absolutely! Yr quite num to those words. As nice as it is for someone to say it to you. Sitting with someone, just sitting with them, is by far, holds more meaning than words can ever do for them. 🌹🌿

@@Dourdandepp Sorry this is so late, and I agree so much. After my dad passed away I kept getting "Oh, he's with god now," and I'm like "This doesn't help, I'd rather he be here with me, and my family." A simple hug and someone sitting with me and letting me let it out did so much more.
@Dourdandepp2 жыл бұрын
Ah!! No problem at all lovely of you to reply. Yeah, it really is all that's needed, absolutely!! Likewise, with me - Dad passed 5yrs ago & mum years before him. All before their time, it might as well be yesterday. You really feel it in your chest when you think of them, really hits you hard. And my god! The regrets, of what I should have done & said to them. It's an absolute killer!! Haunting. BIG HUG to you hope your getting by okay. 💕

Cain and Liam?! Can't see that pairing on a planet that hasn't been discovered yet, let alone Emmerdale! I can't believe it.. like when Phil Mitchell comforted Ian Beale in Eastenders after his daughter, Lucy Beale died! So amazing to see, but so moving x
@rorymckernan85023 жыл бұрын
Cain has a daughter himself, so that's why he sympathises with Liam.
@JonInCanada13 жыл бұрын
The moment Liam said "I don't have time for this" was akin to him saying "stop" and Charles didn't. After that, whatever Liam said to Charles, however harsh or not, was deserved. When someone in grief says "leave me alone" you give them space; what you don't do is continue to harangue them.
@thatonefruitthatistasty7083 жыл бұрын
In fairness he was trying to be nice and help but i agree. Theres nothing you can do. Once someone going through something like that tries to walk away you give them space. Nothings going to help until they've grieved properly.

I know the character is hurting, understandably so, I can't blame him for lashing out. But one must remember to respect other's beliefs. I agree some can be condescending, but most are kind and deserve to be respected. I do, however, like the fact that Cain didn't have to say much but was just there for him
@Renwick193 жыл бұрын
The man has just lost his daughter he isn’t hurting he’s absolutely destroyed his whole world has been shattered and your talking about a few comments he made to Charles that pales in comparison to what he’s going though give the man a break. Cain knows what it’s like to loose a child as Moira lost a baby once granted Cain didn’t spend 18 with his kid like Liam did with Leanna but the pain is the same
@jadebolt44163 жыл бұрын
It is interesting to see just how much Cain has changed and opened himself emotionally, the past year or so has really shown his new light. This really was what Liam needed though- no sympathy/ condolences or well meaning but annoying people who want to force him to talk about feelings. he just needed someone to sit with him and wait it out [even if it means getting drunk] just let him be

I wasnt keen on Charles to start with. I found him creepy to begin with. Coz he always appeared in every scene, one minute he's in the church, next he's in the cafe and then he's in the pub. He always just appeared from nowhere. And the fact he's dating Andrea, he's old enough to be her dad for God sake.
