Multiple people in real life get stabbed at the same time, it's just the circumstances. Usually the person with the weapon has the upper hand and say so because people panic. In the scene before she probably has the threat of hurting the sister to keep anyone who didn't initially leave at bay. When she started going down the steps is when they should've left but the police said stay where you are and they're actors so lol.
