She got engaged to Dan as Carl was blackmailing her over her affair with Debbie's boyfriend Cameron, & wanted to prove she wasn't interested in him anymore. She ended up suffering guilt & confessed to Dan she didn't love him a few hours after they were married, breaking his heart.
