Interesting tempo for this piece. Draws out the creative juices of each improviser. Like it!

This is probably the last time my friend Funmi (Loves You) Ononaiye went out. You guys helped to prepare his wings to fly away! It is beautiful the way you all played together...it is bigger than the music business - this is Music!!! God has BLESSED us all by giving us FUNMI ONONAIYE 1968 - 2023.

I Had a chance to play with Herlin Riley Back in the day at New Orleans an a few other places. That Man is straight up One of the baddest Mofos on the planet no cap(The amount of Eclectic Soul, Conviction, and Groove he brings to the table). I see you Stacy Dillard & Bruce Harris! greetings everyone from the far eastern part of Europe. I miss New York City someday we will meet again. Blessings to all of you.

I’ve never seen a group play so dynamically and fluently together quite like the emmet and the band

Herlin! Feels like there are times where he's showing us the quarter note and that's all. Teaching! Just the beat and it's swinging...

This only works when the bass player lays it down like Russell does!

Yeah, love this take on tempo and that waltz time on the B section at the end, tight! One of my favorite Monk tunes for sure.

As any Monk fan would say: "The 'evidence' is clear; this group is guilty of reaching a stunning quality of performance that merits a return to Emmet's as soon as they can be persuaded to return.!

This is like playing an Allegro by Haydn as an Adagio. Though well done it makes no sense in terms of the composition and that is what counts.
