We learn from Yosef Hatzaddik that in life we are never sold out rather sent for a mission. It’s clear that Emmy lives with this attitude and is a tremendous inspiration.

Well in reverse I was in shock because he had gotten his education and training in life and had no real career orherthan mother. I was so in shock I never really had a lawyer in my divorce and my x took everything. I finally left with no money but one crdit card , borrowed 50.00 and second hand volks wagon van. He took every thing else, checking account, savings account, of , no alimony, and gave me 75.00 per child. I had three children one in diapers. This after 13vyears of marriage. Up to the time I left he gave me 10.00 for food and medicine per week. I had no choice but to go home to a family that had money problems, themselves. Ibthoughtcasciwas driving home that my credit card might get canceled all the way home to nebraska. Oh and my ex took all of my possessions in apt and in storage. But we made it out and on. I thought at times I wouldn't but we did and I learned got an education. My son became a v.p. in electrical engineering and is in A.I. creating right now , my eldest daughter became a college grad accountant now retired and had prominent jobs resolving millions, and my last one has suffered the loss of an envolved as have they all but there is always hope for littlest one. I always say I didn't do it alone God did it all. Thank you BIG Brothers and big sisters organization. They gave mine a father figure who cared. Otherwise my family would have had only my sister and my mother.

I learned about Emmi when I listened to her interview on 18Forty and was literally sitting on the edge of my seat throughout her entire story. Since then, I started following her IG page and am so so inspired by her daily courage. I typically save my MPP episodes for my frequent out of town drives, but this is probably one of the first times I’ve actually listened the night it aired. I’m so touched by this story and cannot recommend MPP to enough people. Each episode touches on an even more pressing issue or topic in our community. Thank you for your bravery in bringing these to light ❤ obsessedddd

Thank you for having the courage to get up and speak! May I say, having had two divorced daughters, the experience of going through a divorce is so difficult yet the growth is enormous. It's like the caterpillar that dies but the butterfly comes alive! It's a huge journey, but it's hashem's way of getting them stronger and he holds their hand all along. You never know if what you've gone through was in order to help others with their struggles. You've got so much to give. Wishing you only strength and hatzlacha for your future. May hashem send you the nicest man who will appreciate your qualities and respect you for who you are!!

Wow, wow, wow! What a strong and inspiring woman! I love that Emmi responded to the school interviewer with a statement about hoping she won't be where she is today in 10 years. As I listened to the question, I hoped that she would say that, because it's so obvious that she's a person looking to grow. Emmi's visual of the corridor of doors, each holding a person who feels alone, really resonated with me. That's very powerful. Thank you for the inspiration! I hope you find a school that will really accept your son and allow him to shine. Wishing you strength and wisdom along your journey, and praying that you find your other half very soon!

There will come a time , down the line , where you’ll have a chance to see the impact you have made on those who listened to your story. For now , let me wish you continued strength and wisdom as you move forward, raising your son and showing him what an awesome and strong mama he has. Chin up , shoulders back and move on forward. Emmi, you're so inspiring. I love that you emphasized alot on how you came out of this huge challenge so diffrent and how the process made you a different person. You also said how in life we dont know always have reasons to justify why things happened but thats percicly not the point. The point is the stuggle and to grow from it. Not understanding why things happen will not change anything at the end of the day, maybe we think sometimes that knowing will make things better, but you emphasized how you DONT NEED TO KNOW IN ORDER TO HAVE INNER PEACE. Inner peace comes from within and knowing your worth is so so so valuable, since no one can take it away from you. Your words are so so so wise, thank you so much for sharing your story. It gave me so much chizuk and may it give many more people. Thank you @meaningfulpeople for interviewing Emmi, her story is so inspirational. I hope the story will light up the darkness of the many that search it. Thank you!

Emmi, I have been watching you on Instagram for a long time now. Almost at the begnning of your divorce when you started your single journey. Seeing your son grow up and your everyday life with him, and all the reels you posted. When I watched you start training for the marathon, I was astonished at your positivity, ambition, and growth. And seeing you finish that marathon and running up those steps, I was in awe of you. You have brought tears to my eyes over and over again. You have inspired so many people with your story, but more importantly, with your Emunah and Bitachon. And now to see you on Meaningful Minute! I was so shocked and proud to see you! What an amazing, strong, mature young woman you have become. And I can't wait to see the day you post your wedding on Instagram! I know it will happen! After watching the entire episode, what struck me was how healthy Emmy sounds. I am certain that this is in major part due to her nurturing and supportive parents. I believe it's important to point out how much our parents affect our lives and in turn how much we, as parents, affect our children's lives. Emmy B"H has confidence, resilience and positivity which she has obviously worked on and developed amazingly! And in the background she has a strong support system which holds her up and believes in her! I recognize this from my own personal experience with my divorce and BH subsequent remarriage. A huge part of the healing process is the support. Family, most importantly, but also friends and community. The support or lack thereof make all the difference. While my divorce experience was completely different from Emmy, the similarities of the support and being able to return to a strong, healthy mindset relatively soon stand out. I loved listening to Emmy and hearing her clarity and confidence knowing that she has the support she needed to get to where she is. I daven that this podcast helps her and all women in similar situations to get more community support which is often harder to come by. Thank you meaningful minute for bringing such positive awareness!!

It is amazing that you were able to move into your patents' home. You all grew, but it seemes like you gained so much. I agree completely, you have to believe in yourself and live the best life we can live. I think that you answered the school very well. I would have responded the same way. You have an incredible attitude and perspective. I am proud of you for walking down the isle. You forgave yourself, stood up to yourself and everyone who has gone through divorce and broke the ugly awkwardness and stigma. You took on the fight for yourself and other divorced women. That is probably why you were chosen as a role model. So thank you and well done. I hope that you get the opportunity to merit a happy marriage. The difference with the widow and the divorcee is that often the divorcee has a father for their kids who can help financially and does have custody, a widow is totally alone. There are many divorcees where the father or (mother) isn't involved at all and then they need as much help as the widow. There are simply not enough resources to help everyone in need and so priorities have to be made

As a grandmother of shidduch, and almost shidduch age (one married, B"H), it's important to listen to this story. Plenty of sad divorce stories, and some marriages that stay but are compromised by, let's say, upsetting behaviors. One thing that should be emphasized for parents of young men, or girls, looking for shidduchim. Be honest, is your child really ready for making such a commitment. Does he/she understand the responsibilities? As parents, are you ready to confront your child if the marriage is going thru a tough time, and you know inside of you your child isn't doing the right thing?

1:13:00 this illustrates how out of control our "sensitivity culture" is. Someone announcing their engagement should not cause pain to you. If it does, it is something you need to work on. Obviously there is a normal human reaction that someone else's good news can remind you of something negative in your own life. But it cannot be up to everyone to refrain from living their lives because it might cause a reminder to some divorcee of the fact that she is divorced.
