Cab Ride - Gillingham to Bromley South

A cab ride along the Chatham Main Line from Gillingham (Kent) to Bromley South. This was filmed in early morning before 0600, so there are no horns.

Medway, my old stomping ground, I used to live just up the road from Gillingham train station when i was a kid. The amount of development around Rochester is staggering, i always remembered the Saturday market in the large car park you could look down on from the railway line. Sadly long gone

I know exactly what you’re looking at. There has never been a station there, nor any carriage sidings. So I am at a loss as to what the structure is in the undergrowth. One to investigate!

Why it produced screeched sound?

It is flange squeal on curves. All railway stock does it. Axles sit in fixed bogies dead straight. So when the track curves, the wheels and track squeal against each other
