Spot on reaction! Except for one thing. Ale wasn't nervous. She was dead tired, at the end of a long day and the end of a long concert in which they introduced the full album _Queen of the Murder Scene_ (more a rock novel than an opera), interspersed with some songs from their previous album. They give their all for their music and for their fans. Thank you for reacting to The Warning!!

I guess a vocal coach is their best critic, these girls are just amazing and I've also said that about them their voices being similar yet distinct, they blend together so well. Dany has some haunting riffs, Pau I could watch all day beating the drums and when Ale sings she has such a lovely voice, I just wish she would sing more. Put all of that together and you have "The Warning", I haven't seen a band like them in years, their simply amazing.

Actually the Enter Sandman video was intended for their extended family to see what they were doing. It was quite a surprise when other people showed interest and of course it did blow up. Normally, Ale is a human metronome but long concert and high elevation was wearing her out. As for their voices both Dani and Pau were straining a bit due to the altitude. They really put their hearts into this show since it was the first live performance of their second album, Queen of the Murder Scene.
@TheUnderdogDe3 жыл бұрын
The reason Ale looked tired was that this was song 18 in a set of 20 songs. That's pretty hard for a 13 years old girl considering the altitude and the fact most of the songs they played that night were pretty intense. It would be really interesting to hear you listen to Dany's song skills in their latest video *CHOKE* released in late May. I particularly like your comments about trained/untrained voices. You vocalized what I've been trying to say about some of the young singers that are so popular on the internet today, that is, they sound overly trained to the point of not being genuine. I think that's why I like these girls so much, their voices are natural and real. They've had vocal training that shows today, three years after the Lunario performance, but they have still retained the same honest and unpretentious sound to their voices. Oh, and if there is a need to sing in a higher register, Pau lets Dany do that, lol.

It’s difficult to judge that because they all keep improving. Dany’s guitar skills are often overlooked because she’s doesn’t “shred” and doesn’t solo a lot, but she’s very lyrical much in the style of David Gilmour. And she leaves room for Ale. It’s a bit like The Who in that bass and drums play a big role in the sound.

@@ZoeyPaigeLunaPhD From my perspective Paulina's drumming is clearly the best thing about the band individually, with Daniela's vocals being second. Ale is a very good bass player but there's nothing that stands out about it to me. I'm not saying I'm right of course, but that's the way I see it.

August 2022. The Warning have a five-album record deal and have released that third album, called Error (includes previous EP, Mayday) with singles Money and Choke, and have completed two legs of a North American tour, part with Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless. Halestorm's epic singer, Lzzy Hale, loves The Warning and particularly Dany, as evidenced by media interviews with Lzzy and the giving of one of her guitars to Dany on stage at the show in Dallas. MTV and SiriusXM have showcased TW and Spotify ran an ad featuring TW on the flatiron billboard in Times Square. Money reached #9 briefly on the iHeart Rock Chart here in Canada (no idea about elsewhere). New songs Money and Evolve yielded great "live" videos from their show opening for the Foo Fighters at Foro del Sol. Choke has been adapted by a pair of rap/EDM artists for a single coming out on the 26th of August. You may be interested to survey various YT videos of their tour shows to see their progress. In particular, Dany has opened her voice up and has developed an exciting stage presence . A non-album single, Narcisista, shows Pau's maturing voice and also excellent presence in the live performances. Ale, already a great live player, gets more in the audiences face. Best of all, you might like to check out the Tour page on TW website and check out a live show. They're briefly back in the western USA this fall, then back up to Canada! In my many decades playing and mixing live music, I've never felt as much live impact as The Warning delivers in person. Although their sound is consistently excellent, bring your custom fitted ear plugs. You have been Warned! Here's the MTV video of Evolve showing young women blowing away a somewhat bigger audience, featuring an epic rock scream from the mighty Pau: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2nTgHijq9imh9E

Dany has both a higher and lower range than Pau. Pau's voice may be a bit more precise than Dany's, although Dany has really stepped up her vocal game on Choke (as others have noted, be careful if you want to react to that; it gets blocked a lot more than their older music). Sometimes Dany and Pau sing a duet, and either or both may also sing in harmony, often with Ale. They do that on Sinister Smiles (on this album, where Pau sings the good side and Dany the evil) and Survive (where Pau sings the chorus and Dany the verses; in the coda Pau and Ale sing simple backing vocals with no lead). This album is somewhat open to interpretation, and DPA want it that way; they're interested in how their fans interpret it. This song is her dying declaration. Whether the Grim Reaper in Hunter (the song prior to this) is real or part of the Queen's psychosis is one such open-ended question. Because Pau sings this and because of the peaceful nature of this song compared to what has come before it, I interpret this song as being the "good" side, who in her dying breath believes she has done right because it's in the name of love. They're not strict about this; Dany sings all of the early songs except for the prolog/overture, Dust to Dust, before the evil side has manifested itself. Regardless, a brilliant album. The first full album (XXI Century Blood) is extremely impressive in its own right, and is certainly not what most consider to be teenage music. At least 4 of the songs are serious commentary on social issues, the title track (over-reliance on social technology to the point of loss of personal contact), Black Holes (addiction -- this is based on reading, not first hand experience, and it's another ballad sung by Pau, who plays piano on it), Copper Bullets (domestic violence -- their parents were not happy that they did it, but it neither glorifies, overstates, or understates it), and When I'm Alone (loneliness/depression; Dany wrote it when she was feeling very homesick at Berklee and needed to write a song for class due the next day). Even the EP has very solid music. They don't follow a formula with their songwriting. Pau noted in an interview recently about the forthcoming album that every song is different, and Dany commented that that's "very The Warning". Their interviews, by the way, are excellent. They do joke around a bit with each other, but they answer questions in depth and they're very polite and gracious at all times.

According to Pau, Ale has the most beautiful falsetto of the sisters. She uses it often, but it has been missed by most of us fans because it is not expected. Can't wait until her voice matures and her confidence grows. She will take the lead now and then, when she has to, but is happy singing backup vocals. So much to look froward to, concerning this band. They are no where near their peak. Each new song is revealing. Just amazing.

The complete album QOTMS (Queen of the murder scene) is fantastic and it´s even more outstanding when you think about how young they were when they wrote it. I don´t think that this album would have been released if they had signed them selves to a label. They really made the correct choice to go their own way from the beginning and waiting for the best deal they wanted to be able to continue making music they like. When it comes to this song I my favorite parts are Pau´s singing and the guitar solo of Dany, that is beautiful and gives me arena vibes. I can see this song being played in front of thousands of fans singing along to "This is the end. Goodbye my friend." A great way to end a concert! A couple of things to bring up, this is near the end of the concert in Mexico City at 1.5 miles of altitude and she has been playing drums the whole time. Secondly this was 2018 and that mentioned that since then they have been working really hard with a vocal coach and as per recent live performances, they seem to have gotten much better, which I appreciate. Also on last small detail on which you could probably confirm if my suspicion is correct, but since Pau was only 16 here, Dany 18 and Ale only 13, would their voices be fully developed and would that leave room to get better?

One cool thing is that Pau can do lead vocals on all of their songs, in case Dany has a problem. Ale has also relieved Dany sometimes as well, although she says she really doesn’t like singing lead (I think that’s more her personality than any voice issue). When doing harmony Pau and sometimes Ale will come in for just a word or two to add emphasis-it must take a lot of work to figure out all the harmonies.

Subscribing if you are doing more of The Warning. When looking at the lyrics, there may be some confusion without the back story. This is from Queen of the Murder Scene, a concept album that traces the descent of a girl from love to obsession, stalking, murder (hence the "bloodstained hands" lyric), and madness. In the previous song, Hunter, she believes the Grim Reaper is after her, but by this point she has multiple personalities, so it is most likely that one of her personalities murders another, thus committing suicide. This song has her last thoughts as she lies dying. Interestingly, these lyrics also tie back to the first song on the album, Dust to Dust. Pau sings both, and Dust to Dust includes the lyric "in *the end* everything just turns back into dust to dust". The final lines of both songs say to "start again".

I suggest you do Choke next and there is a live version in their home studio and an official video. Another band you should hear is Dea Matrona from Northern Ireland. They are a classic rock trio and they are 20, 20 and 17 years old. They are not like The Warning, other then they are young, female and there are two sisters (and a best friend). I enjoyed your take very much. Pau has the most limited vocal range of the three sisters. She very seldom strays from what you hear in this song. I do not recall her switching to a high head voice…..ever. Dany has worked hard to develop her vocal range, while Pau has focussed more on stamina (due to her having to sing while drumming). Who knows where the future will take them vocally, but I imagine they will only get stronger as they keep maturing. You mentioned young Ale seemed nervous. She certainly is not fond of any kind of spotlight, but on this occasion she was simply done in physically. After the show, the band planned to meet with some fans and share a meal, but she did not last long before having to call it a night. This set was over two hours at high altitude, and the band had been going non stop for several months prior to this show. Right after this, she was put on bed rest due to severe exhaustion. How these three maintain their schedules is a mystery to me. With school, the band and personal lives they are constantly on the go. Thanks again for your reaction. 🤘🏻❤️
