Hi Emmy, I've been doing colored pencil drawings for over 30 years, and have read all the books on the subject. Most instruct the artist to render hair in clumps, creating the illusion that the viewer is seeing the hair that's really there, but not seeing it, if you know what I mean. This video is, without question, the most outstanding instruction I've ever seen with colored pencil. Thanks so much for sharing your fantastic talent.

I have just watched your video and want to say thank you so much. It's not easy putting a video together and I'm very grateful for the work you put into it. You were very thorough from the beginning explaining and illustrating your technique in the first portion of the video, including the products you used (your pronunciation of Faber Castell is exactly how we are all used to hearing it pronounced, disregard comments from rude people). You also gave reference below the video of the paper you used, thank you so much for that as well. I'm headed back to your channel to watch more of your videos; I've also subscribed . . . you are blessed with incredible talent and we are very fortunate you have chosen to share it with us. I absolutely love the hair style you selected for this tutorial.

You put out great tutorials, very helpful. Best thing is, your tutorials stand the test of time to helping artists learn. Too many "me" artists on KZbin with their 3 min speed videos that are nice to watch, but don't teach you a thing about improving, no comments, never reply to anyone who writes a comment, blah! 😋

I am soo thankful I discovered you! Your videos are amazing. Thank you for graciously sharing your talent. I have already learned so many important tips. I have a guestion if you have time. When I try to erase out the highlights, I end up removing huge chunks and ruining everything! Do you sharpen the eraser to a fine point? Do you have any advice that will help me get the same result as you? Thank you for your time, and for all you do. Kind regards, Alyson

This is incredible! I can't believe the detail of the hair! When you're laying down your first color, do you leave a little bit of the paper showing to establish a white highlight or do you go in with a different color and back in with white to get that effect?
@emmykalia8 жыл бұрын
+EquinePromos Thanks alot! I evenly color the whole section with the lightest color, no white of the paper. I use a pencil eraser at the last step for the highlights.
