This is what an angel sounds like, looks like and acts like. I could listen to Emmylou sing the phone book and be inspired. Still.

I've heard about fifty versions of this song, some good and some should not been made, but I'll take this version over and above all others. BEAUTIFUL!!!

Her early voice was magical. There might be versions with better musical accompaniments but I don't think anyone can sing this so well.

My aunt just died he told me how to play poker and blackjack introduce me to music took it to my first concert they were supposed to play this version of her funeral will they play the Johnny Cash version. Not hating on Johnny my aunt wanted this version.

Emmylou is perfest in everyway, her voice, her appearance, her character, her figure. This song is also the best version, hands down.

For some reason the studio produced audio of this song has been dubbed onto this live video. Not that she can't sing... she can sing the bark off an oak tree. Her version of this song remains my favorite of all time.

Yana, the voice, brought me here. I love this wandering wanderer version rather classic one. I do not know why not so many american tv programs unearth this heritage to 20’s century kids. I really love it and thanks for sharing.

Emilo Harris has a very unique voice and sublimated the sorrow of a wanderer into a song on a higher level. It's sad and very good to hear!!

Yet another lovely version of this lovely song, and hovering near the top of my own favourites list. Hayde, the group from Oslo, does a lovely Bluegrass version, and I'm also very partial to Doc Watson's version. However, the one that has me at the moment is Eva Cassidy's version. It's got that wee bit of difference to it. She puts Gospel and Blues touches into it, but at the same time still keeps that sweet, pure voice that she has.

I am a poor wayfaring stranger While traveling through this world of woe Yet there's no sickness, toil or danger In that bright world to which I go I'm going there to see my father I'm going there no more to roam I'm only going over Jordan I'm only going over home I know dark clouds will gather around me I know my way is rough and steep Yet beauteous fields lie just before me Where God's redeemed their vigils keep I'm going there to my mother She said she'd meet me when I come I'm only going over Jordan I'm only going over home
