I just did this (in a minimal way - I tested the technique first by only cutting a small amount of the ponytail - I raised my hand holding the ponytail so only a few inches would be cut) and IT WORKED GREAT!!! My only questions are these; 1) if I don’t want the overall length to be as short as your demonstration.....HOW Can I do it again but not cut as much ? 2) my hairdresser gave me the layered bangs I’d asked for but her “BANGS” go as far down as my CHIN!!!!! How she thought I meant “BANGS” which I said I wanted LAYERED to mean “down to my CHIN” I have no idea?!?!? (Note: my hair is just about shoulder length or about an inch below) How does a hairdresser think I wanted my “bangs” on shoulder length hair to be at my CHIN?? Lol, I don’t have an ostrich sized NECK! So, how do I trim my bangs so they’re at about the length to around the middle to tip of my nose??
@TheSalonGuy7 жыл бұрын
Just cut them but not as short and do it on dry hair.

I really couldn’t be HAPPIER! 😁 Your videos are GREAT and so helpful. Once again, TY for taking the time & effort and for also sharing your talent with all of us😁😁👏👏👏👏👏

Awesome. I appreciate the professionalism too. I did it and added my own side swept bangs about eyebrow level and vertical down. (My profile pic is prior this cut btw). I am very happy with the results. However, I purposely did longer layers (cut closer to the ends then in this video) thinking I could always do it shorter if decided. I ended up keeping it this way! The longer layers keeps the funky look but more idk, mature? (I’m almost 30 now alright). I was concerned at first because my part is pretty far right and if you cut it in the middle like you do in this video then part it to one side, it makes one side shorter than other... well turns out the asymmetry is part of the look I wanted and doesn’t stand out the way I thought it would. I also have really thick hair and was concerned it would be hard to cut straight across because of it... it was hard and my hand was cramping for how long it took to get through it all lol but it worked the same.. Love this cut, thank you so much. Not the first time I’ve cut my own hair by any means but it’s the first time I did and felt like I’d just walked out of the salon, so fresh and purposeful looking (as opposed to a botched diy). iiiiiit’s a keeper.
