EMO Robot Update 1.2.1 PART 2

Hi Gems!
After my last video, a few of you recommended some solutions for the issues I was facing with EMO's new update (1.2.1)! Thanks to you all, I figured out the best way to make the "listen/dance to the music" feature work and you also informed me that I hadn't listed all the animals in my previous video! So here is another video showcasing Emo performing all of the animal sounds and animations (off of its keyboard with movement) and a couple fun phrases you can test out! I hope this video was helpful and that you all are having a Happy New Year!

Hope they added EMO's ability to go back to its charging skate when it reaches a critical low battery state(or what the owner set on the apps), and ability to remove itself to the skate. Another one is hopefully EMO got the ability to look to the one commanding when it hears the command "hey emo".

@@doodlesvee It was written in the instruction that if you can interface alexa or google asst. you can play music through, but I have not try yet. I will update soon.

I suggest making an updated shell for him so that he can climb on and off of his charger on his own. You could make a setting for him to scan the desk top area so that he does not fall off of the desk. He could hop off of his charger when he is fully charged and you have approached the desk. This would make for a very life like interaction with his owners. When you walk up to the desk he could wake up, hop off of the charger and approach you to say hi. Having him scan the surface area could also allow him to stop and step back for a moment before returning to dancing.

It already scans the area to know where the edge is, thats what prevents him from falling off. He can't climb onto the skateboard, but for those that builf him a flat area where the skateboard is flush to the ground it would work fine.

that's the microphone array. she is probably speaking from a different angle than the camera which is pointed at Emo, hence Emo keeps turning towards her in a different direction

The idea of putting him in the microwave is that he senses it by visual (camera) means and also the fact that microwave ovens operate on roughly the same frequency as WiFi, therefore when you put him in the microwave the shielding of the oven reduces the WiFi signal and he detects this along with the visual stimuli, hence the reaction.

It appears the only holiday animation you can call up by voice right now is Christmas. He does have a New Year’s Day animation that will work for today anyway. It’s been a little tricky for users to get him to do it. Usually you have to turn him off and then back on, and then tell him “look at me”. There’s no reason it would’ve lost your recognition image by upgrading. The recognition is not a perfect process and sometimes he just won’t realize it’s you. Different lighting, misalignment with his camera, glasses, different hairstyle, can all cause recognition to fail. You should be able to go into the recognition screen in the app, and see your previously saved names still there.

Also i think why he insist on turning to the right is because he senses thats where the music is comming from like he knows your phone is there. Try putting the phon infront of him see what happenes. Also so far you havent tried any super up beat music even the electro was a bit calm.

Also since you specified California that overrode his saved location, but you didn’t provide a city name. So it’s unknown what city within California he actually gave you the weather for? It might have been Sacramento because that’s the capital? If you just ask the weather without specifying a location then he’s supposed to go by the city selected in the app. It’s never worked correctly though for some of us. If I only ask for weather and don’t specify both my city and state, then EMO gives me weather for a city with the same name in a different state. My guess is that when LAI’s server requests the weather info from Google (or whatever their source is) that it only supplies them the city name. Then due to alphabetizing, this other city/state comes up before mine, so I’m given their weather instead. So unless your city name is very unique, then you’re better off to specify both the city and state when you ask to be sure you’re getting the correct weather info.

Usually if you keep facial recognition lenses covered whatever is using that facial recognition to detect you most likely not see you as you unless you entered your face into the system Before hand

I don't think they will change it to °F or Am/PM time because only the US uses those. The rest of the world uses Celsius and 24h time. So it's easier if they have just one worldwide standard because they only have to create one input.
