So glad to hear I'm not the only one feeling like role queue defeats the point of mystery heroes. I like MH for the weird team comps and constant changes in playstyle. With role queue it just feels like a normal QP game

I said that the moment they released role Q, i mean im playing this mode purely for fun, and huge part of that fun is the chaotic random team comps we get, role Q just feel like quickplay role Q doesn't feel much of a difference

The only reason I play the role queue MH is to find out which support/DPS I'm gonna do well with that day. If I want to actually play MH then I play the arcade one

role queue is way better because otherwise you spend most games getting rolled bc the other team has orisa mauga rein and you have no tanks which is the least fun ive ever had in overwatch. im playing mystery heroes to wind down not to spend 5 minutes getting my ass handed to me

I like thinking about this playstyle from an outside perspective. He looks like a new, really bashful play it safe player who, when getting their ultimate, is hit with a surge of confidence, runs at the enemy, and dies immediately

Happy to see you continue to make content for Overwatch, I tried Marvel Rivals and to me it was overhyped and underdelivered to the hype that people kept pumping into it. I was unpleasantly surprised by just how similar most things feel when it is 3rd person compared to how different you can make it feel with first person.

I tried Rivals a bit, and it could be because my skill level is WAY different in OW than MR (been playing since 2016), but I felt underwhelmed and confused? I wanna give it more of a chance but I might not for a while. @_@ (did I miss a tutorial in MR?)

i think role queue is nice if you want to find heroes you’re good on in a certain role, so it’s good if you just started playing imo

Honestly, I prefer it role queue. Yeah, it's less random, but it doesn't create the situation of no supports or tanks on one team and the perfect role line-up on the other team.

I think the Min 1, Max 3 rules with MH was all it needed really. You could even limit Tanks specifically to 2 instead, don’t think many would complain about that change.

So funny they made MH Role Que to fix how unbalanced the mode is, but didn't fix one of the main drivers of that unbalance (losing ult charge every time you die, so the winning team is always steamrolling). It's so obvious yet they've left that in for 8 years. Somebody on the team hates seeing the losing team in mystery hero get ults. The worst thing ever in their eyes.

My question is, who was even asking for role que mystery heroes? Like is it even that popular? It's just annoying that they added it, meanwhile total mayhem is still on rotation with low gravity and I refuse to believe more than 8 people enjoy that game mode. Although on a side note, I had a great game of role que mystery heroes using Juno lol

MH and the arcade modes are extremely popular. obviously the main game mode is the most popular, but just because you may not play the arcade modes often does not mean they're not popular. I know people who basically exclusively play total mayhem 🤷 it's almost like there's a lot of ways this game can be fun and your way of having fun is not universal

@aceclop I don't actually know if the numbers support the idea that TM is more popular than MH. I only know that 10% of players play OQ (which is a lot of people), I'm unfamiliar with the stats for the other game modes regardless, I don't know why so many people care when both MH modes are available. everyone is free to pick what they like. you want to just play the heroes in a role? go for it. you like the all out absolute madness of regular? knock yourself out. queue times will vary depending on the day and time but that's true for all game modes so many people are acting like this is the end of the world or some kind of large scale disaster, and i don't vibe with that level of rage lol it's just a game mode, everything is going to be fine

Personally, I like role quese cause the odds of the enemy team being 5 tanks while your team keeps getting 5 healers was making it difficult to learn random characters

i think having both MH modes is good. sometimes you want the absolute chaos of "omg i got my main!!! ... oh god i died and now im on doomfish" and youre fine with the possibility of your team having two genjis, reinhardt, someone on zen with 20 mins on him, and widow and the other team having two hogs and three bastions. other times, maybe you want to be forced to play heroes you never touch on a role or you want some chaos but not the kind of chaos where you dont have supports but the enemy team has the perfect comp its all a matter of perspective when it comes to what's better because what's better is entirely subjective and a matter of opinion. as a MH casual who doesn't often touch the mode, role queue MH is a good place i can start to build some confidence before trying classic MH. i know it's arcade so it doesn't "matter" but i don't love being publicly awful at things so I'm not about to jump into a mode where nine people could get to watch me on doom lmao
