First video is the guilt of neglect. A young boy, or a baby, was left alone in the tub and he drowned. The specter is a stretched corpse approximating what the child would look like if they continued to grow. they are already dead so the small frame of the child is stretched into the shape of an adult hence why the child looks so disfigured.

Ever since The Boiled One. I strongly believe anytime we hear laughter its actually screaming being interpreted as laughter. Because that's how the boiled one explains laughter that we know is actually screaming and terror and suffering. So I think literally anytime we hear laughter its actually screaming and yelling in terror being interpreted as laughter. Now I am not saying this is true in ALLLLLL sources in ALLLLL videos. But in at least one series and given its similar laughter in Dr. Nowhere's own videos. It is virtually confirmed by the writer himself on social media earlier on when he made TBO. He gave us a way to confirm the fact that the laughs we hear should be intercepted as screams that are heard as laughter to these entities. And if you listen really closely. His "jokes" aren't jokes. They are saying do this and you will die. Just saying it in a satirical or bubbly way. Like even when he says "I hope you enjoyed your stay" in the compendium. There is no reason for the audience to be laughing. They are a captive audience. And because these entities have info hazard abilities, they can make you see, hear, feel anything they want you too. They are definitely a literal captive audience of poor souls and all the screams are filtered as laughter. DEFINITELY in TBO and MOST LIKELY in the Compendium. But it is confirmed that AT MINIMUM in The Boiled One that the laughter that he speaks of and the laughter we here are the screams of millions. There were a lot of people who were confused about the laughter and eventually on other social media the author created a clue for people to follow that leads to several conclusions about the nature of The Boiled One and that more then the laughter is not what it seems. Including the ENTIRE video before The Boiled One shows his face. That was ALSO the boiled one using the dead persons voice to explain to you what he is not. Take everything the host of the episode says before TBO shows up in that episode. Make it the opposite. And find out he definitions and etymology of the words. And that is the nature of TBO.
@SpecialInterestShow4 ай бұрын
OK, that *is* interesting, but at the same time, the thought of there being these horror entities gathering to learn about the culture and behaviors of other horror entities, and this presentation is made for them. To me, it's horror comedy
@SpecialInterestShow4 ай бұрын
But that's still a good theory
@lunaloud94054 ай бұрын
Nice theory! But I have to agree with @SpecialInterestShow here. I believe the Oddity Compendium is a dark comedy about the anomalies or entities. It may seem horror to us, but to the audience in that video I believe its actually more of entertainment as they learn about each other and laugh at the "funny" moments. I'll admit, even I laughed at some parts where the host made some really good (but still twisted) jokes.
@saibisureddo56574 ай бұрын
@@lunaloud9405 There is a strong lore reason for saying what I am saying though. Mainly due to previous videos in two of his series so far. Where the opposite is implied in times where there ais laughter it is actually agony and screams and is referred to as laughter. And is been a common theme through nearly every video so far except for 2 from side stories. This motif is most strongly explored in The Boiled One. When he refers to laughter of millions he is directly referencing the screams of millions. The entire video's motif is about opposing nature. The nature episode that plays before he shows up if put into their opposing meaning like every sentence it properly described the boiled one. (This was verified by the author in a comments section of a theory crafter as well. I forget which one right at the moment. But I would contend that its nearly assured that laughter is reference to suffering and screaming. Especially because they happen nearly always in times where there would be suffering instead of laughter. Its a definite through-line of his videos thus far. I dunno.
@SpecialInterestShow4 ай бұрын
@@lunaloud9405 yeah, it's just played so straight that I can't see it as anything else. The laughing happens when the announcer is telling jokes. It wouldn't make sense for humans to be screaming then, right?

Theory time at 20:26, we see the obelisk wearing the same mask as the love-thumper, This would imply they are connected, and the love thumper could be an extension of the obelisk. This actually makes alot of sense, because the love- thumper is known for taking organs but leaving bodies unscathed. And, the obelisk absorbs people to use their organs to make tendrils which connect to the universe. This could imply that the love thumper is supplying organs to the obelisk. Now this part is sort of a stretch, but We also know that the love thumper talks about being hungry, which could he interpreted as a hunger for knowledge, which would explain why its agreed to work with the obelisk. (Which is said to have practically infinite knowledge). What do you think?

The fleshbeds honestly remind me of the Japanese yokai called a Boroboroton which is described as a tattered futon that comes to life at night. The way it kills you is that at night it rises up into the air and throws the person sleeping in it out of bed where it then begins to wrap around the head and neck of the sleeper with the intent of strangling them, so not so much eating someone but it still kills you. I think that in the boy in the bath the monster was more of the personification of the parents(1st person pov) guilt on what had happened to their child, the guilt of the parent being that they thought they could've done something to prevent the child's death,and thus the parent living and being haunted by the personification of their guilt.

A theory about The Boy and The Bath: At the ending where The Boy is sitting in the crib it's voice like becomes more deep and like it becomes very angry and might posses the parent but still this is just a theory.

I think the boy in the bath is a prequel to the boiled one. Because it shows images of a fan, similar to the boiled one, there’s the implied fact that it’s nightime and the boiled one “watches” you at nightime. And the boy in the bath is very tall with twitchy long hands, similar to the boy in the bath. What could have happened is that the boy in the bath was killed by boiling hot water and became an entity out of anger.
@thedemolitionsexpertsledge55524 ай бұрын

The boiled one is a one-video thing. The boy in the bath is just about guilt. Also monsters that are taller are usually more terrifying, which is the height thing. But there isn’t anything besides things like “THEY BOTH SAY WORDS ITS CONNECTED”
