i remember buying something from a store in southern los Angeles, from a department that was labeled in mandarin and it's name translated to, " drink of one thousand sadness." it was a store that was a department store, plus a supermarket in a building the size of a mega Wal-Mart, the size outside had a big red dragon on it and the name of the place translated to, giant palace of food. the drink was, goji berry mixed with yuzu fruit and it tasted like the coating of a thing of sour skittles, mixed with the left overs of the bottom of a bag, of trolli sour worms. it was a sports plus energy drink and i took it to Utah with me. the drink kept me alive, for two weeks alone as a young man in his early teens. i didn't mind the extreme sourness of it, i ate a lot of greasy food and the seafood, smelled like a gym bag, i didn't eat it, my cousins did. thank you, tokuji drink and melonade concern, in Beijing, for providing me, by way of the sports drink aisle at a distant store, for that interesting and very fruitful memory. i relate this to you, because that drink, was what emotionally damaged my parents. it was a very bright orange and it smelled better then what little taste it had.

Talking back wasn't allowed in my house either. My mom used to say, "I'll wring your neck" and got the wooden spoon. Once she chased one of my brother's around the house with a wooden spoon. They ran up to the second floor my brother ran into her room then when she thought cornered him he slid over her bed like he was sliding over the General Lee on the Dukes of Hazzard.
